Haven’t had Pete’s in about ten years and DAMN am I sorry I haven’t! Used to live close by so had them frequently, but sort of forgot them after moving. Ordered them on Skip today (because we both work from home) and wow!!! No regrets. Hubby got the Cowboy Burger with fries and gravy and I got my very first Philly cheesesteak sandwich ever and a side of onion rings and WOW. First of all, the portions are HUGE. The bag that it came in felt like it was 20lbs. There was enough fries (real hand cut fries) to easily feed four people. They were hot, crispy and delicious. The handmade onion rings, same thing. HUGE portion and perfectly done. Now the sandwiches, wow, I can’t even explain. Way better than expected, that’s for sure. Hubby’s was AWESOME. The only complaint he had was he wasn’t sure if he could eat it all. This thing was huge and the meat melts right in your mouth. The cheesesteak was LIFE CHANGING. Absolutely to die for. The pictures you see online doesn’t do it justice. This thing was jam packed with steak so tender it melts in your mouth, perfectly fried red peppers and covered with melty cheese, all on what appeared to be about a 12 inch fresh sesame sausage-like bun. The food was as amazing as I remember from years ago. We got it within half an hour and used skip. The price for all this was only $42 (this includes courier fees, etc). While I realize this sounds like a lot, take a look at my review of the other burger joint I reviewed lol. Trust me when I tell you, $42 for what we got isn’t all that much and was worth every penny. It’s also impressive that they can maintain their amazing quality of food and keep it consistent considering the fact they’re always so busy. If you haven’t tried Pete’s, you must. I promise you will not be...
Read moreI've driven past Pete's Big Bite several times and always meant to drop in and try their food. It was finally time! A foodie friend had arranged a meetup with fellow foodies.
This place has a very retro vibe to it, kinda like an old fashioned drive in. They have a few booths inside, along with a few high-top tables, and soda fountain style stools at a counter. They also have checkered floors and a car theme going on with the decor. Very retro. Very cool! Oh, they also have tables outside on a makeshift patio. Nice!
Most of us had burgers, of course, one added a poutine, and another had a salad. We all got an ice cream sundae to finish this great tasting meal!
The burgers were big, juicy, very tasty, and loaded with bacon - some had peameal, others had strips. They were generously dressed the way we liked. The fries were nice and crispy and came with gravy. Nice!
The chunky Greek salad was good, dressed with olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and large pieces of feta.
The poutine with pulled pork was generously dressed with cheese curds and gravy. I should have stolen a taste! Next time.
This was a good outing. It was nice to meet other foodies - people with similar interests. The food was really good, and so was the service. I'll definitely be back!

Read moreI ordered a couple burgers, poutines and onion rings with drinks.
Food: Burger was not huge but wasn't small either. Had a good charred flavor to it but nothing to write home about. The poutine that the comments raved about was nothing special. Just like getting a poutine at a food truck outside Canadian Tire and at a 10$ price tag, I'd expect more flavour. They had a good selection of sauces and toppings like Harvey's. The onion rings were tasty, but seemed to be deep fried for too long as they were very dark.
Price: seemed steep averaging about 23$ per combo. They only accept cash or debit.
Parking: there was ample parking as it is located in a plaza with many businesses that seem to close after the sun goes down
Atmosphere: had a nice 80's type dinner style but did not look run down. The area did tend to get smoked up due to the cooking and your clothes will probably smell like grilled burgers after.
Customer service: they were kind enough and provided insight on the available meals. However, they did mess up an order by adding cheese when I specifically said not to add cheese.
Overall, it's okay. If I happen to pass by another time then I may try something else on the menu but it's not something I'll be thinking about. For the price and flavours, I would rather try another...
