Appaled at the level of customer service at this restaurant. See photo attached, ordered Boat B.
First bullet point specifies that the order comes with California roll, tuna roll or salmon roll. I chose the tuna roll. My order came with both a California roll and tuna roll even though the bulletpoint says "or". I noted this to the waiter and said perhaps it was a misunderstanding of the menu and that I could not eat California roll due to dietary restrictions, and I had properly specified when giving the order that I wanted Tuna Roll. The waitress indicated that she could change the order but it would be an extra $1. She indicated that no one else has ever had this problem and that I am the only one. Furthermore, she indicated that I should have told her about my dietary restriction. Granted I should have done so, but a tuna roll doesn't go against my dietary restriction so I felt no need to indicate as such. This was merely an error by the establishment in the grammatical structure/wording of their menu for Boat B.
I pointed my concern to the menu and the wording of the menu to my server. I am sympathetic to the fact that it was a misunderstanding and miscommunication between both the server and I; however, the manner in which the menu miscommunication was dealt with by the server was subpar, including the adding of an additional $1. I indicated to the server that I'll speak to her boss; however, no such manager addressed...
Read moreThe atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty run of the mill of most sushi/Asian food places. It was redeeming to see a sushi bar and your rolls be made at the center of the restaurant. It did feel claustrophobic in the restaurant because of the numerous high booths and walls and winding corridors but it was nice for privacy but we had gone when it was very quiet and it still felt to small for the few people that were there. The restaurant was clean and didn't lead to any concerns about overall cleaniness of the resturant. Even with the little amount of people in the restaurant. The service was awesome, the waitresses were very kind and offered their help when every asked. The take out portion seemed a little out of place as it was in the back of the restaurant and lead to a lot of unnecessary noise of people asking for orders and payments being made. The food was alright, nothing too crazy out rolls were bland tasting but the udon had tasted awesome. So maybe it's a hit or miss with items on the menu, but the food quality didn't make me feel like I would t go there again it was for the most part positive and quickly cooked...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and Asahiya was recommended to us by locals. It is a quiet restaurant with muted lighting and Japanese decor. It felt cozy and warm and the service was great. The wait staff was more than willing to answer questions which is good since the menues were not as descriptive as I would have liked. The food was great, the rolls were well made and very tasty. If you haven't tried it I have to recommend the pumpkin tempura, it sounds a little odd but I promise it's fantastic. Pricing...
