I deleted my last review because I felt it was a bit harsh, I was pretty annoyed leaving the restaurant and probably should have slept on it. The food was decent, the service was adequate. I don’t mind adequate service, our table was a bit crowded with plates and we probably would have had a few more drinks, had the service been better. We had to flag someone down to pay. It was busy so we weren’t annoyed, we were just like ‘meh.’ What was really frustrating is the tip option STARTING at 18%. 10% is for adequate service 15% is for good service 18-20% is for EXCELLENT service. So you either believe you deliver excellent service all the time or, you want to make your servers tips higher so you can justify paying lower wages. I don’t know when restaurants all collectively decided 18% was the going rate but, it is not. Service in restaurants has not gotten collectively better, it is quite the opposite. People are going out less and less and, yes that’s due to rising costs but, also it’s because going to a restaurant used to be an experience and great service was a big part of that. I don’t want to pay 60$ for breakfast and get crappy service and then be gouged on the tip. I want to give my money freely because your server was charming and efficient. It’s fine if that’s not the service you can provide all the time, I know as a server there are times it cannot be provided, but put realistic tip options on your debit machine that reflect that. Starting the tip in the ‘excellent’ category literally annoys every single person I’ve ever discussed this with. Also, please consider salting your hashbrowns when they come out of the fryer. Once they are in your plate they are too cool for the salt to...
Read moreThis was one of the worst lunch experiences I've had. My friend showed up at 11:45am to make that sure we got seated. She was seated at a table for 4 and when I got there at 11:55am the waitress said we were no longer allowed to sit at a table for 4 because we were only a party of 2. She briskly said "Management rules, I don't make the rules". And let me be clear - there was no party of 4 people waiting for a table - we were just arbitrarily being kicked out of table after my friend had sat there for 10 minutes, had started a glass of water and was reviewing the menu. We stood there, without a table while she walked away to take care of someone else. We looked around the restaurant for a table for 2 and there was none. We told her it was ridiculous that we were being kicked out of our table when we were there early. "Sorry, not my problem". We told her that we were leaving and that they won't be getting our business again. "Ok. It's management rules and I can't change them". When the owner finally got back to me she wanted a description of the waitress - without an apology. I gave one and her response was "I am sorry that is your experience but business is up over 30% so not everyone feels the same. The offer remains if you change your mind. Cheers". Then she shared some very personal information about the waitress and excused the whole matter as unimportant and justified due to the waitress' situation. Ending your sentence with "Cheers" doesn't make it 'all better'. Terrible, disgraceful - no wonder the waitresses don't understand customer service if this is the...
Read moreWe were being called “Yellow People” by one of their staff while waiting for a table. This event happened over two years ago and when the owner was notified, the first question she asked us when reaching out was “is there a possibility that you heard wrong?”
What a great way to handle a PR issue, by making things worse.
We did not accept any of remedies she proposed and with her response to this post below, we are glad we didn’t.
Our kid still asked why she was being called “yellow people” from time to time, and the owner thought a free meal can make everything goes away. Just because we refused your free meal, doesn’t mean you were forgiven. We Yellow People ain’t that cheap.
We will NEVER go back to this place and we will make sure continue sharing our experience.
If you only care about how the food tasted like, you can stop reading. It’s worth trying out.
Initially I gave it a 3 star. The response from the owner reduced it to 1. I would give less if I could.
It all started when we overheard one of its employee racially attacked and called us “Yellow People” pretending she was talking to other customers while we were 5 steps away waiting for a table. Among 6 “Yellow People”, 5 of us heard.
To make thing worse, my then 5-year-old daughter heard and asked me “why did she call us Yellow People?”
It was about two years ago, and yes, we are still hurt from this. Based on the arrogant response from the owner below, this restaurant is dead to...
