We ate two times at the Dirty Northern pub, once on our way up to Tuktoyaktuk and once on our way back. We were not in the restaurant. The Arctic char (pictured in photo) was absolutely to die for! The very best Arctic char I have ever had, with fried capers, a lovely sauce, roasted garlic, cloves, and potatoes with broccolini. Returning from the north We debated getting the Char again, but decided to go with the truffle pizza, and a couple we were traveling with went the traditional ham and pineapple route. Both were so good, no photographs unfortunately as the pizza disappeared too quickly! Try the Banofee (banana toffee) if you have any room once finished supper. The craft beer selection (Oregon, Vancouver, and Whitehorse) is excellent as well. I highly highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Whitehorse. A busy place, there was quite a lineup the first time we were there in mid August, but by the middle of September when we were on our way back it was full but we got in quite easily... both times about 6:00. An added bonus, it's a sports bar, so I got to watch a couple of Blue Jays games which given the general lack of cell service and Wi-Fi in the north was a treat.

An average bar/pub style restaurant with a variety of Yukon foods. There was some confusion about which door to go through, since Miner's Daughter and Dirty Northern are the same location on Google Maps... One is supposed to be the bar and one the restaurant, but both look like bars when you go in. If the review was helpful, please follow and/or like for more! Service: (2/5) Service was slightly below average. We waited a good few min at the door until someone greeted us and told us to pick any seat. Servers dropped by maybe once during the 1.5 hour meal to refill water. The food took about 30 min to make, I'm not sure if it's because of we entered the wrong restaurant or not. Food: (3/5) We tried a few of their specialties including the Bison Burger and the Arctic Char. The bison burger was a big letdown for me, it didn't taste much different in terms of taste or texture from a White Spot beef patty. The Arctic Char was pretty decent. The ribs rack had good portions, but the meat was a bit on the dry side. COVID: (n/a)

Great food but service needs improvement...We came here for dinner recently for its arctic char and salmon burger. They were unfortunately out of salmon, but the arctic char was quite good and very reasonably priced. The switch to yam fries was an extra $3 though, which was not communicated to us when we asked... And to talk about the service...When we arrived, the restaurant was full and the hostess asked us to wait, which was fine (although in a somewhat cold tone). However, a few minutes later, two customers who came and lined up after us were seated by the hostess before us, with no explanation given at all. The somewhat cold/aloof attitude continued with the waitress, which unfortunately lasted throughout the meal. Also, while we ordered dessert at the same time as the other dishes, we were not asked when we wanted to have it, and it was served with the appetizer before the main, which just felt weird...Popular restaurant but would unfortunately not recommend it due to the service.

Unfortunately their tables on the windows had not been cleaned. They were covered in Ketchup spots or another sticky substance all over. The table beside us, a couple from Toronto, had an equally dirty table and started wiping their table with their personal wet wipes. They offered us some and we did the same to prevent getting someone else's food all over our sleeves. Finally the waitress came and we asked her politely to please wipe both of our tables. She wiped them again in patches instead of going all over the table properly. The wine glasses were super dirty. The base of the glass and the stem was covered in huge stains and the glass bowl had a lot of visible water stains all over. It's super embarrassing for the Whitehorse restaurant industry if a place like Miner 's Daughter cannot train their staff properly to wipe tables or polish wine glasses after they come out of the dish washer. That's something you would not even offer your guests at home!!! The rest of the restaurant is pretty dark so I guess you wouldn't even be able to see the dirty glasses there. We asked kindly if the music could be lowered just a touch as it was hard to talk with what was a loud mix between 90s and disco. The waitress told us that the staff had strict instructions from the manager never to touch the music, not even the volume. Ok. thanks for that help! The food was mostly ok although the Tuna appetizer was prepared who knows when. The Tuna had a touch of fishiness and the Avocado slices were already dark or in other words oxidized. So definitely not made fresh. The fries were completely soaked in deep frier oil. They were so soogy and no crispiness left. So as long term Yukoners we left our dinner night again somewhat disappointed with and equally embarrassed about the Yukon service industry. But what...

Half price pizza on Mondays can't be beat ! 💯 They're wood fired and super tasty with a Yukony vibe. This is definitely one of our best restaurants in town 🤷🏾‍♂️ edges are often burnt though so make sure you like that taste :) the gluten free crust is also good.

Atmosohere: The music is always a bit too loud, and the booth seats are too low for the tables, and there is no light at the front tables of the dirty if you're there during the dark winter. Outside light is fine in the summer. The hooks on the tables for hanging coats are too low so you're likely to leave with a dirty coat if you're seated at the long bar-style top in the middle. - not a problem in the summer! No need for a coat! ☺

The lighting can be a bit dark and the tvs can be quite distracting from the lovely decor in the place. There is a nice Vancouver-style vibe in the dirty.

Service: staff is similar to any other restaurant, always rotating and very hit or miss. Usually not very engaging or friendly, but efficient in their jobs so the wait time is usually not too bad.

Turns into a wild spot at night on Fridays and Saturdays in the summer, not recommended for anyone over the age of 25, usually, but a fun spot if you want to let...
