Sushiman Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Whitehorse

Ok, first they sat me by the entrance when there was 1 table occupied in the whole place (I didn't think it was a big deal). Placed my order, while I waited the constant delivery people in/out right in front of me was slightly annoying (ok, no big deal again) then the delivery people continued to use my table that I was currently sitting at to package up their deliveries (so weird of people to do this when there's an entire restaurant of unoccupied tables) then I try to take a bit of the beef short ribs, can't even get a bite off because there was so much grisel and fat. I tell my server, and she takes it away. I finished my other dishes, which were mediocre, but I'm hungry. Go to pay, and they charged me for the beef short ribs that I barely took a morsel of. Then they can not take it off my bill because there's no manager. I've never in my life had to pay for food that I barely touched. He offered me a 10% discount and proceeded to say repeatedly they had to throw it out, so therefore, I had to pay. As if I actually thought they were selling the dish I returned, well, of course, I hope you're not reselling to people. Omg, he eventually talked to the kitchen and gave me 50% off. What a joke, I'll never dine here and beware of what you order. They'll make you pay for...

We ordered takeout so we can't speak to the service.

The food was not pleasant for us. My shrimp and yam tempura smelled fishy and like it had passed its point of optimal freshness. It was more soggy than crisp as tempura should be. The beef bento box was just beef in rolls and then a pile of that same beef. It lacked flavour, colour, and "oompf."

The miso and side salad were the most enjoyable parts of the meal for me.

The price was very high, higher than most places we've dined at in the Yukon, so that contributed...

I celebrated my birthday at Sushiman Restaurant, and it was such a wonderful experience! 🎉 The place is spacious — perfect for a celebration dinner with family or friends.
