Went in at 2:00 for a late lunch. She server pointed to a 2 seater I asked if I could sit somewhere else, so she pointed to a table with 3 chairs. Then was told if larger groups come in I’ll have to move to a 2 seater. The place was quite empty. I counted 7 empty 4 & 6 Seater tables. A couple came in and sat at a 4 seater and she didn’t tell them they’ll have to move if it fills up. I asked if the haddock burger had good spice Flavor, she said, yes, but it was actually just a piece of fish with no spice at all. She didn’t refill my water until I was almost done my meal, even though she filled the table beside me.and could see my empty glass. She just seemed to have an attitude for some strange reason, the blonde waitress with the ponytail. I’m trying to do things on my own. I won’t get into the situation I’ve been in, but for me, it’s a big deal to go out and do things and to be treated like this was not a great feeling. I should have left when she was going on about the table. Atmosphere is a big thing and where you sit makes a big difference. It’s not cheap going out to eat anymore and I’m just trying to make it a good experience for myself. You never know what a person is going through. She needs...
Read moreMy wife and I made it our goal this summer to search out proper small town diner/ cafes whenever we travel (even if just within the province).
Lately we've been making trips to Ontree by Martock and when finished, we've been trying out little places in Windsor. It had not been going well, as the diners we tried all once served proper homemade meals, but have switched over to frozen foods by Sysco or the like.
Well not this time. This time we struck gold. Lisa's cafe is everything I look for in a small town diner / cafe. All the food is made by them, and made locally. Their menu is big enough to provide selection while not so big that there are too many options for them to ever know how to make them all properly.
The best part in my opinion is their unique specials of the day. The specials are not menu items priced cheaper but instead actual one day special creations they've made.
Prices are more than fair and while I personally do not care for desert, anyone who does needs to make a visit since all their deserts are made locally by them and they are delicious (according to my wife and friends).
I will certainly be coming back the next time we're in Windsor. This...
Read moreHad an excellent lunch at Lisa's. I had one of their specialties....the Bologna Burger and it was absolutely delicious!! I had a spinach salad with it and it was a very generous portion. I highly recommend and we will definitely return.
July 6th...had another lunch. The fish and chips were delicious and my husband's seafood platter was huge. This is our favourite place to eat when we are in the Annapolis Valley! You have to go there!
April 15th, 2024....late lunch at Lisa's. Again, everything was top-notch. I was even lucky enough to get the last 6 amazing butter tarts! Our server, Daniel, was so attentive....a definite asset to Lisa's!
Sept. 29, 2025. We found that the menu seemed smaller than it used to be. My husband ordered liver and onions. He requested to have gravy on his mashed potatoes and was very surprised to find out that it doesn't come with gravy at all! We have never had liver and onionswithout gravy included!! He paid the extra money to get a side of gravy. The food was still tasty but not like it used to be and like everything else, the prices have increased. A bit...
