My husband and I come here often during the week for lunch. We always were treated well by the staff. Sometimes, we will get take out from this location for the whole family for dinner as my kids love the pasta. If I did a review a week ago, they would get 5 stars. Not so now.
Last Saturday, May 28/22, I called in a take out order for dinner. I ordered the usual pasta and ordered the wing combo. I have a problem with food allergies and there is not much I can usually order. I always order the wings from here because one particular sauce doesn't seem to bother me. I asked if the kitchen could fry my Fries in different oil than what they fry the Cactus Fries in. I am allergic to something in the Cactus Fries. In the past, when my Fries were fried in the same oil as the Cactus Fries, my throat closed up. Since then, BP has always fried the Fries in different oil. This time they refused. They said they always fry the two in the same oil and they would not do any different.
Regardless of my allergies, if I wanted Cactus Fries, I would order Cactus Fries. Why would I want my regular Fries to taste like Cactus fries without the crunch? I tried explaining my position. The manager on duty that night refused to accommodate. I canceled my order other than the pasta for my son as he really wanted it. I went Applebees for the rest of us. (We are a family of 6.)
My husband and I will not be going there anymore if BP does not care about health concerns. We have given this location lots of business. This same manager gave us a problem before but I let it go. I ordered a steak once. At first the steak was fine. Once I got about half way through it, I noticed a strong weird taste on the second half. I had my husband taste it and he agreed. I couldn't eat it. I called the manager over to ask what it could be. She wouldn't even listen. She gave us a funny look and walked away. Another time, the bbq sauce on the wings was extremely salty. I couldn't eat it. We called this manager over and told her the issue. She said that was impossible as they always use the same sauce. She walked away and refused to address the issue. We stayed away for a bit thinking they probably got a batch of sauce that wasn't mixed right. When we came back and ordered the wings again, the sauce was the same as usual.
This manager does not care about the customer, only the bottom line. She obviously thinks its an inconvenience to speak to the customer and resolve issues. I realize things have gotten expensive and they need to cut costs, but they shouldn't cut costs at the expense of the customer. We are paying for the food we order and should be able to eat it without risking reactions. Restaurant food is not cheap. I will go to a restaurant that respects and cares about their customers. I am extremely disappointed in their change of policy concerning allergies. My advice to anyone with allergies is to be cautious...
Read moreFor the last 2 years during the summer months, a friend and I would almost always come in for a bite to eat or some drinks after our volleyball league games. Consistently enough to be on a first name basis with the bartender who was on shift when we'd come in. Last night I experienced something I have never experienced before which led to me leaving in tears & will likely NEVER set foot in that establishment again. My friend who was always with me left, but we ran into my cousin and her friend, both of whom I hadn't seen in 6m and years. So we obviously sat together and had a tone of catching up to do. I can admit I do have a louder laugh, as does my cousin & we were laughing up a storm, we were seated at the bar too. The 'manager' came up to us and let us know that some customers in the dining room (not the lounge where we were) was complaining we were too loud. I said "we're just laughing & catching up, we haven't seen each other in a long time, I'm not sure how you expect me to stop laughing" to which he responded "well if you don't then you need to leave".....My jerk reaction was to say "okay thats fine, bring my bill please" - This initial interaction was out of ear-shot of our bartender as well or any other workers. The manager walked away and then our bartender came back over and asked what was wrong and we explained that his manager told us we had to leave because we were laughing to loud. Whereas the week prior, my same friend and I came in on a Friday and there was a table of 15 men who were so loud that I could not hear the bartender, 2 feet in front of me....No managers approached them to ask them to be more quiet, but 3 First Nation women are told to stop laughing or leave....Needless to say, I was astounded at this request and double-standard treatment, at a place where we've had nothing but good times in the last 2 years, NEVER having any kind of issue. The 'manager' came back again, this time with our bartender there and listening - then he backtracked and tried to claim he didn't ask us to leave, but "requested" we keep it down....I was upset and highly offended by this point & told him directly, that was not true and that if it was now a "request", I don't have to comply. But the damage was done by this point & I could no longer hold back my tears. I paid my bill and left the establishment with one of the WORST racially motivated experiences of my entire life. So much so that I do not plan on ever returning to this Boston Pizza. I sincerely hope nobody else ever receives this type of treatment...
Read moreWent out to eat here on a Friday night around 11:30, hosts were very friendly and sat us quickly. I went with two of my friends and took over 5 minutes for a server to even greet us, then almost 15 minutes for our waters and lemonade that we ordered to be brought over. Our server Loti (pretty sure that’s his name, had to ask the manager for it) didn’t check on us once to ask how the food was and was no where to be seen almost our whole meal. Now I work in a restaurant and I know it can be busy but we were one of three tables in the restaurant side that were being served. We then had to ask the manager to grab our server and when he finally decided to come over he was rude. We asked for a desert menu and then it took him 10 minutes to come back to get our order (one of my friends had a free desert for her bday) and then I asked for a refill of water. It took over 20 minutes for water of all things to be brought to our table. This was absolutely unacceptable. Once our deserts came to the table he basically threw them on the table and walked away, now being even more rude.
Other than that the food was great and I’ve never experienced something like this at BP before, I’ve always had good servers but no one like Loti.
Finally when we wanted to pay we had $10 promo cards that say we can use one per order which was then not allowed to us because we hadn’t spent a certain amount of money. The manager told us that you can only use one per table but that is not stated on the promo card so we fought that. This was weird to me as last time my server let three different bills all be discounted with the $10 promo cards. The manager came over and tried to explain it to us but didn’t really do much. We ended up getting the discount but after going through quite the hassle with the manager and our server. We could also hear the server and manager talking about how annoying serving us was. In my opinion this server should not be allowed to serve if he is going to have an...
