Amazing food with GENEROUS portions for all dishes and staff that seem to genuinely care and drinks that are expertly mixed poured or drafted as always. Love this place.

Charlee's isn't just a bar, restaurant or lounge it's a uniquely Winnipeg cultural staple that should be visited at least once in your time living or visited here.

If you do as I suggest and go to Charlee's at least once, be sure to take note of your surroundings as the walls are adorned with photographs of local places in the neighborhood and if I'm not mistaken around Winnipeg itself.

The owner has put such passion into this place that, truly, it can't help but be imbued in any meal or experience taken from this place.

If you live here and you love this city as much as I do, you will have a hard time arguing the absolutely authentic Winnipeg experience that is this Charlee's

My husband and I had charlees catered for our wedding. We requested buffet style with no servers, so people could just help themselves. We were provided the warmers and the fuel to run them, along with serving utensils. They gave us a tasting first in which we chose the dishes that we wanted. The food was spectacular. We had a basic assortment of popular foods (chicken tenders, garlic mashed potatoes, potato wedges, fettuccini Alfredo, sweet and sour meatballs, buns, 2 types of salads, perogies, roasted chicken) everybody was RAVING about the food all night, many even went on to say it was the best wedding food they have ever had. It was an extremely reasonable price, it worked out to between $20-$25 a head which left us with a fair amount of leftovers, even with people getting second or even third helpings. This is one of my go-to restaurants! I have been stopping by every so often for 6-7 years. The lunch buffet that happens from Wed-Fri and Sunday is fantastic. I love the selection they have, it's not huge but it's varied and it's always fresh tasting. Recently they had things like deep fried ravioli, honey garlic veal, penne in a creamy tomato sauce, quesadillas, sweet and sour meatballs and this amazing macaroni and cheese. $8.99 is a great price for their buffet. All the menu prices are on the cheap side too. The chicken strips have a nice peppery breading, the perogies are good, wraps are super fresh and the breakfasts are very good.
