Well where to begin.... Me and my friend were quite hungry after a long day at work. And we wanted to try something new for a change then our usual spot we go to. So I remember Famous Dave, which is on the 59 where I drive past every day. And I thought it's nice to try new things so me and my friend went there. When we walked in the staff were very friendly and kind towards us. They got our menus and sat us down, we took a bit to order. They thought my friend was a child and tried to give them a children's menu even though we're both adults. The waitress said she would be back in a minute to take our orders, but several minutes went by. The restaurant was quite empty. Several seats were available. It was us and a family dining.
Now the food...My friend ordered a Caesar salad. The chicken was bland, the lettuce tasted as though it hadn't been washed along with it looking disgusting like it wasn't actually washed, and the meal itself did not smell appetising. Now I ordered a cheese burger, it seemed at first like it was amazing plus a side of fries and Mac and Cheese. But.... Unfortunately I didn't think my food was food. When I recieved my food, it was burned and plain. The burger bun was burnt to an inch of its life along with the patties tasting like nothing. The lettuce on the burger did not taste like it had not been washed. Along with the very unappetizing fries apart from one of them being completely raw on the inside. And here I thought things couldn't get worse... But it did. The mac and cheese was said to be creamy, it was not creamy. While checking my mac cheese I noticed parts were burned and stuck together. Along with dry pieces corn in there as well. And when my food was given to me I thought I didn't have ketchup but I did, the so called ketchup was a weird bubbly looking sauce.
Other then the poor quality of food, the service was alright and the server was quite nice to us. Would never come back or recommend as the food should be the main reason...

I attempted to order through skip, store is now closed error. So I try to call to place an order for takeout, no answer. So I took the drive there to order. Placed my order. The male manager approaches and informs the waitress and myself they are out of roasted chicken. Ok, not what I'm ordering. I pay $70 for my order and was told it's a 20 minute wait so I ran to a nearby establishment. When I returned I was informed that they were out of beef brisket for my sandwiches. She then asked if I would be ok with the pork sandwich. I replied that I did not care for the pork, it was dry the first time I tried it. Ok, we'll give you a refund for you whole order. As I'm waiting for them to figure out how to refund me another waitress walks over and says they will give me the side complimentary. I sat and waited for them to try and make the refund. They were all pre occupied with chatting and hugging each other. I then asked what was going on. "Getting the refund done". The manager that came to assist then gives me cash because they can't refund onto my debit card. She hands me $29. I asked what I was being charged for. The sides, appetizer and dessert. Ok, but I asked for a full refund and shared that I no longer wanted to wait if my order wasn't ready. And that the sides were offered free. She goes to check if the order is ready. It was not. I then asked for my entire $70 back. I then questioned what they were doing for the last 40 mins between ordering and that moment, had they not made my order. They did but now it's been sitting and they don't to serve or to me. Give me my $70 and dessert on the house. I will never be back. Such a terrible experience. And while all this is going in, a young couple sitting waiting for their take out order also has been waiting for her substitute to pork and was over charged. Shame on you...
Read moreCalled to make a reservation for a party of 11 for a work function for Friday for Reenders location in Winnipeg. Within the hour slight change of plans and the team wanted a different restaurant. I had called to cancel the reservation. I had said..I'm calling to cancel my reservation that I had recently made for Friday and that there's been a slight change of plans. This was around the 2 pm on Tuesday March 22nd. The person on the other line..I coul not remember his name but sounded annoyed...and said..oh you are the one that had called on the reservation that you just made about an hour ago for party of 11. And I said yes. I was about to give my name and in mid sentence he cut me off and hung up on me. This is the first time a restaurant person sounded annoyed and to hang up. Now the funny part is today..Thursday March 24th the restaurant called back to confirm my reservation for the party of 11. I told her it was funny because I had called before to cancel. I told the lady what had happened and told her to make sure she let's the manager know as well and that I would be definitely be putting in a review as well. She of course apologized on behalf of the man that took my call. I said it wasn't her fault but that the manager should speak to this person I also had tried to phone the manager line but no one picked up. This experience leaves a sour taste...if this is how you treat people over the phone..then this place does not deserve our money. I shared this with the team and all of us agreed that it was very rude and good thing we were going to a different restaurant. Some team members were excited to try out this restaurant but won't go there after this experience. How do you run a business when you can't be courteous over the phone. So many restaurants out there that are competing for customers and first impressions are always the...
