This is a 3-4 stars. Subsequent visits will cement whether it actually deserves its 4. 4 means I will likely go again even if its out of my way, whereas 3 means I'll eat it if its there, but I won't seek it out. As I need to do a better analysis, a 4 for now. This place looks a lot nicer inside than it does outside. It was a very comfortable environment. Prices are very reasonable. We only ordered 3 items. The gamjatang, the bulgogi (served with rice) and a pancake (vegetable and cheese). We both agreed the pancake was very good. The bulgogi was very tasty. It was the gamjatang that was very mediocre. I had originally asked if they could sub the potatoes for glass noodles, but they said no without extra price. That's not a big deal. I only mention this though, because when I got the bowl it was loaded with the pork bone. 3 huge pieces which really left room for 1 piece of potato. So yes, you definitely got a lot of the bones for that price. However, it was definitely not my favorite gamjatang. This might be a personal preference issue, but I literally crave the one on Pembina, which is what made me seek out a Korean restaurant tonight. I did not get that from this soup. Also the other Korean restaurants I have been to in recent memory, the items come out sizzling and remains sizzling (specifically items that come out in that bowl or the sizzling plate which I don't know anoither name for it). This was not. By the time we ordered, the place had emptied itself out, so there was no real reason why it shouldn't have been aside from they maybe don't serve it as hot? As per usual, the meal comes with Korean sides (3) and they were all acceptable. My friend loved the potatoes, and I agree that was probably the best item. It also comes with rice. When you are asked what to drink you can order the corn and barley tea for free. I found this out at another Korean restaurant that it is often customary to have that instead of water and there is no charge. We checked over the bill, and yes free here too. There is NO...
Read moreAs much as I want to give this a 4, the staff was rude and kept on giving us an attitude.
I went to this restaurant with my girlfriends during my friends birthday. I personally picked this place because I had spent my birthday here before and I liked the food.
The lady waitress was not friendly and looks like in a hurry even though at that time it was only us who were dining in.
After we finished our dinner, I asked for a lighter for the cake and a bread knife, the lady waitress told me they dont have one. I insisted because it’s hard to believe that a restaurant does not hve a knife. She gave me an attitude and saw her eyes rolled as she got the knife. She didnt also check up on us if we needed anything.
Food quality: We enjoyed their udon beef and gamjatang. The sweet and spicy chicken was just mediocre. The galbi wasnt as good as before, it was dry.
Customer service: poor
Parking: street...
Read moreLittle Korea has been our go-to for quick meals and soup. We got the Gamjatan (Pork back bone & potato soup with vegetables) and the Galbi Tang which is beef bone soup with glass noodles and green onions. Both meals included some small sides to share which has sprouted mung beans, kimchi, and potatoes with a sweet caramel-y thin glaze. You can request for a refill (limited to one) of the sides. The gamjatan is flavourful but only included about 3 pork neck bones. Usually, we would get a few more. The galbi tang, during this visit, actually had lots of tender beef and the soup is just perfect in my opinion. I love the savouriness and having a lot of green onions just added to the flavour. Service is fast, and polite. We love supporting independently owned small businesses with good food so we always return to...
