I have bought from this location several times. The last two times I ordered from the App which is supposed to help you "skip the line." The first time was on my birthday and I ordered well in advance, but when my wife arrived to pick it up, she was told it would be another 15 minutes, because they "got busy." Then, I decided to give it another shot on Mother's Day... I placed the order at 6:00 PM and put in a pick-up time of 6:40 because I live around 20 minutes away... I even called to confirm that the order would be ready at 6:40 when I saw the charge hit my credit card and I was told it would be. I walked in at 6:38... there were only three other people there... I waited for them to pick up their orders and approached for mine... I was told another 8-9 minutes because the chicken was cooking... I asked how that could be with the advance order and call confirmation and was told the "got busy." So much for skipping the line with the app. I finally got my order and headed home only to discover macaroni salad (which I don't like) rather than the coleslaw I had ordered. Like I said, I live over 20 minutes away, so I wasn't going back, but I was annoyed by an error on a $7.99 salad. I decided to let Mary Brown's headquarters know about my experience on Tuesday... no reply. So there it is. The stuff I ordered was good, while the...
Read moreI had to wait 25 min because they did not have enough chicken cooked to fill my order, which happened to be the "Batters Box," which comes with only 6 pieces of chicken... How do you run out of chicken at 8:30 pm at night when there was no one else in the restaurant at the time I ordered. This is not the first time where I have gone to the Portage location where I had to wait for chicken because they did not have the pieces they needed cooked... It's very frustrating. To top it off, the server did not "apologize" for making me wait. Also, I found that in my last 2 visits to this location, the chicken isn't as flavorful as it used to be... The time it took me to receive my order or the chicken lacking flavor, I find the servers/cashiers at this location not very friendly...borderline rude... always no smile... no manners as in no pleases and no thank yous...overall no sincerity as my business is appreciated... I think at this point, I will never frequent this particular "Mary Browns" on Portage Ave again, and I will be sure never to recommend this location to any of my friends or family and anyone who will ask for my opinion on this...
Read moreUsually Mary Browns is my go to restaurant. But I ordered there recently through Skip the Dishes. I ordered two orders of pop ins and two orders of taters. I received 3 orders of pop ins and 1 order of taters. Called the restaurant and they said they can't do anything and to talk to Skip. Contacted Skip and they said there isn't anything they can do about it. So I emailed the company to make a complaint. Today I received a call and Simran called me and argued that she checked the video and saw that the employee put in the correct order and that it must have been the Skip driver that took out an order of taters and put in the extra order of chicken pop ins. Then argued with me that it's ridiculous I'm arguing over an order of taters. She apologized for the experience but did not taken ownership of the mistake. Offered a coupon for an order of taters. I said no thanks and will just contact the company again about my interaction with Simran. This is really sad as I really enjoy...
