I would first like to say that our visit far exceeded all of my expectations. I was told this restaurant was bad, but I could not possibly fathom it would be this bad. We arrived without a fuss after booking a reservation for 14. Then I opened the menu. For me the obvious "safe choice" was ribs. But for most of my family, luck in finding a suitable option would not play out in their favour. My brother: steak and mashed potatoes; steak tasted like bully beef while being tougher to chew then a hockey puck, all while cooked to "medium rare". To make matters worse, his mashed potatoes tasted like "envelope glue". I kid you not, those are his words. Next was my cousins brisket sandwich. Was the brisket cooked 4 days ago and microwaved back to room temp? Ya, most likely it was. It honestly didn't look edible and I had to give him one of my ribs cause he only managed to down half of it. Great aunt was missing shrimp on her dish that was supposed to be half shrimp, grandma barely got any shellfish on hers, though the sandwich literally revolved around the shellfish. Ah yes, my other aunties order. The order that took 30 minutes to arrive after the first dish arrived at the table. It looked interesting yet certainly not satisfying to say the least. Additionally, every dish that came on a skillet, came on an ice cold skillet. This left me heavily confused. Finally, my ribs. Ahh BBQ sauce. Said it was of the bold type. Well, it was about as bold as a yellow snow cone. Luckily the meat on the ribs was nice enough and it came with cornbread, which was edible. Glad I made the "safe choice". There were multiple other issues that I honestly don't have time to discuss, this has taken me long enough to write. It's been two days and I won't get into how my insides continues to feel... Would highly recommend Montana's to anyone looking for a disastrous...
Read moreWe went to Montana's on Father's Day and arrive just before 4:30. We were told it's a 25 min wait. No problem. We asked to sit in the bar area where there were empty tables, and the GM Gurleen replied "no". Ok, np. The entrance way was getting quite busy so after waiting 15 min. We said we would wait outside to make room for others.(they took our # to text when it was our turn). The GM replied, "our server just arrived so we can seat you." We were taken to a table outside in 30 degree temps. Asked if we can sit in the shade, we were told "those tables are reserved." So we sat at a table in partial sun. After waiting a few minutes for our server, we asked to sit indoors because it was too hot. She checked with the GM and was told "no". She return and told us we couldn't but she didn't understand why. After sitting outside for another 15 min, we requested to be seated to doors again. Again the GM said "no"meanwhile other people arrived and were seated indoors. Our waitress Kylie was fantastic and understanding. After speaking to the other manager, she got us a table in the bar area. The GM Gurleen, walked by us not saying a word. She looked miserable. She is the worst example of customer service and as a role model for employees. She shouldn't be working in the service industry if she doesn't like interacting with people and providing good customer service. The attitude and disrespect we felt at the service of the GM Gurleen was not only unwarranted and rude, it's enough for us not to want to return. So sad because we eat at Montana's often. Perhaps it time for her to find a different occupation. As for Kylie, our waitress, keep up the great customer service!...
Read moreThis was a very bad dinner. Yesterday my boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant around 7:45 and finished our order around 7:50. Because of our 9:15 movie, the time is very tight. Half an hour later our food was ready, but it turned out that my order of large ribs was wrong and I was given small ribs. So we wanted to check with the waiter. So for more than ten minutes, we kept saying hello to the waiters, excuse me, and kept raising our hands, but none of the waiters paid attention to us. Finally a waiter was ushered in, we asked is this a large serving of ribs? She said, I don't believe it is, I will check it for you. Then we began to wait for more than ten minutes, and kept saying hello to every waiter we saw, excuse me, and raised our hands. Still no waiter took care of us. Finally a waiter came and said to check for us. We were greeted with another long wait. We still say hello, excuse me, raise your hand. My boyfriend finally couldn't stand it and walked up to a waiter and said, I need to speak to your manager. We were taken seriously, and the manager also proposed a solution to the wrong dishes. But I feel like we are being racially discriminated against. Because the restaurant didn't have a lot of customers, it was only half full, and there were about seven or eight waiters. The guests and their waiters are all white faces, only we are Asian faces, and those waiters are very enthusiastic about other tables, will actively check the tables, communicate proactively, and can't believe that no waiter saw that we needed help. Makes me feel...
