OPA! of Greece SmartCentres Kenaston — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I placed an order online for pickup for a dinner that we were hosting. I paid 25¢ for a paper bag to transport my food and my order was ready and bagged when I arrived. I placed the bag in the passenger seat and made the 10 minute drive home. When I retrieved the bag, it collapsed with all the takeout boxes, napkins and cutlery falling onto the road. The bag had been collecting juices that had leaked from the take out boxes, which were quite flimsy with some food protruding out of the sides. Somehow, all of the boxes remained closed but had accumulated some dirt. I called the restaurant, but the staff member did not seem to understand the gravity of the situation and only noted that they would be more careful with future orders. After reiterating the seriousness of the issue, they advised a manager would be in contact. Over 30 minutes later, the manager called to apologize, but only after noting that the bags were without flaw as they had no complaints from food delivery services using the same bags and suggested that I was responsible due to improper handling. I had to explain that the passenger area in my car was soaked with food juices, I was being relied on by friends to bring food that had not been on the ground, and I paid money for a bag which collapsed. A meal was offered as compensation but the restaurant staff and manager did not resolve the situation in a timely manner and mishandled...

Sad to see the state of this restaurant. Used to be able to go and get Calamari and Fries (which has always been good taste and value), and while still tasting good the management has clearly changed for the worse and I will no longer be coming back.

Now? You want literally ANYTHING extra that will be some sort of arbitrary fee, or rule that they can't do it. Used to be able to get feta on calamari and fries without any problem, but now you have to pay extra for both the fries AND calamari. Apparently the "toppings" are only allowed for wraps, doesn't say that on the sign but it's a rule now. They used to also throw in an extra dip if you asked for it, not anymore, that will be an extra fee. Why, as a single purchase for food, are we nearing 30$ for fast food?

Used to be one of my favourite places to go for fast food but now they are charging for everything and are genuinely rude about it. I'm surprised they don't charge you for coming through the door, or looking at the menu...

I called to place a catering order which I have done from the past at this location. The women who answered the phone first off told me that I had to order 5 more meals to qualify for delivery and neglected to tell me that I could just pay $12.00 for delivery instead of more meals which would have been $58.65. Then told me I'm too far and then I mentioned that we got delivery from them before and then proceeded to tell me that they might just give the order to a different location... So she didn't really seem like she was interested in taking my order.

In addition on top of all that after being on the phone with me for about 5 mins and my order still wasn't complete told me she had to go cause other customers walked in and stopped taking my order to help them instead. Needless to say I won't be calling or visiting this location ever again. WORST CUSTOMER...
