I don't think I've ever gone out of my way to leave a Google compliant before about a dining experience, however there was just too much about this visit to not put out there.
From the moment we walked in the door it was an unpleasant experience. We had to wait almost 10 mins before the hostess at the front could help us, as she was on the phone. When it was finally our turn to talk to her (there was a family ahead of us), we told her we had a reservation at 630pm. She checked her paper and said my name wasn't on there (even though i made a reservation through Open table for that time), and that she might have a clean table and would have to go and check. After waiting another few minutes we were seated.
Upon sitting down we noticed that the restaurant was very stuffy. Either the AC was not on or there is very poor air circulation. This was something I just wanted to mention in this review for management to see.
When the server came to take our order, the process was relatively quick and we got our order in thinking everything would be good moving toward. However, it did not turn out that way.
We ordered an appetizer, and my bf and I each ordered a meal, and my 4 year old ordered a kids meal. After ordering almost 40 minutes went by without any food. Eventually a manager came over, who was very kind, and said there was a giant mix up with our order and a to go order for another customer and that they had to remake our entire order. Saying the pizza would take the longest but the other food should come out quickly.
After another 20 minutes we finally got our main entres, and my son got his food, however he was missing a part of his order, which we had to tell the server about. Then we noticed that we never got our appetizer, another issue we had to tell our server about. After we got our food no one came back once to check on us. We were hoping to get drinks refilled while we enjoyed our food but were unable to do so until our food was almost done. When the server did finally come back, she was in a rush to get us dessert, to go boxes and a bill. We went from waiting forever for our food, to basically being rushed out while we were eating.
Also, upon ordering I told the server that I had a free appetizer offer on my phone, which she said she would deduct later with the bill during payment. After all of the above happened, we noticed after we paid that it was never deduced, and after waiting almost an hour for our food, with a 4 year old and a 6 month old baby, there was no compensation being offered at all. I was a disappointed to see that, given their kitchen error and the amount of time we had to wait for everything and all of the mix ups in-between. My bf eventually went to the manager after we paid and explained this entire situation and we received a $20 voucher to use towards our next visit, however our appetizer was never refunded. As an area Operations Manager of a restaurant chain in Winnipeg, compensation of some sort should have been offered and it shouldn't have to be brought up by the customer.
We will not be back to this location. I've dined at the Charleswood and Portage Ave locations and have never any issues. This was our first and last time dining here. Hoping the upper management can follow up with the entire team working tonight. The supervisor, hostess, kitchen, and server all did not execute...
Read moreWe normally enjoy Boston Pizza, but on this particular occasion my family and I were very disappointed. After waiting 20 minutes, with 3 young children, we were seated and greeted by a lovely server who brought some of us water while we looked over the menu. From there, it went downhill. Our server explained that someone else would be taking over the section where our group of 4 adults and 3 children were seated. After waiting at least 15 minutes, I had to walk around looking for the server assigned to our area, and no one was to be found. Another woman, who appeared to be a supervisor or manager, asked if she could help so I explained that we had been waiting for quite some time, with our order ready and 3 hungry, energetic kids, but nobody had been over to take a drink order or food over. She said she would look into it. Within a few minutes, a server came by and explained that our server was really busy, so she would take our food and drink order, and we were grateful even though we still didn't have a clue who are actual server was. A short time later, our pizzas arrived. We had no plates, no parmesan cheese shakers, and no pizza racks. My mom and dad hadn't even received the water they had asked for. And we still weren't sure who our server was! We had to ask for plates and parmesan chese, plus remind the serving staff that we were still waiting for water. It was ridiculous. Once we started eating, I thought the tropical chicken pizzas we ordered were terrible! It tasted like dough. Skimpy toppings, no flavor. I didn't say anything, because again, we didn't know who are server was and nobody bothered to ask how everything was tasting! I also thought maybe it was just me who was not enjoying the pizza. Finally, once we were done eating, our server came by and asked if we wanted to box up the leftover pizza, and if we wanted dessert. It was our son's 4th birthday, so we ordered a birthday dessert, which they got right, thank goodness. The girls came over and sang to our son, so that was nice. We paid our bill of over $100 and left. A couple of days later I was speaking with my husband and family about the experience and we all agreed it was pretty awful. We all agreed that the pizza was edible, and just "ok", certainly not how I remember the pizza being at BP in the past. My husband told me he had to put salt on his just to make it taste like something. We all agreed that the service was pretty poor as well. All in all, we all felt very disappointed and unsatisfied. We will try a different pizza restaurant...
Read moreToday we went to Boston pizza kenaston with my coworkers because the government opened up the patio dinning. We haven't really gone out as a group to a restaurant ever since the start of this pandemic. Although the weather was quite chilly we decided to go and have some beer and such. We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:30pm and had put our name to the waiting list. They informed us that it would be 30 to 45 minutes wait. We were ok with that so we just waiting in our car at the parking lot until they called our cellphone number. At 830pm we haven't gotten the call yet so we called to follow up. They then said it would be another half an hour. So we said ok. At 9:08pm still no calls therefore I called to check and there was a guy that answered quite rudely and said No we are not letting you guys in, because the bar is closing in 15 minutes. I was shock and said " what do you mean we been waiting here at the parking lot for over an hour now, we are hungry and why didn't you call us to informed us that you can't take any more people in when we called to follow up? May I speak to someone else" and he just put me on hold with out saying anything. Another guy answered and that’s when I asked for a manager. I spoke to a girl manager can't remember her name. I spoke to her and told her the situation and ask why we weren't informed that they are not letting any more people in. Long story short, she was not even apologetic whatsoever, but was able to find a table for us 3 in less than 5 minutes. She never stop by at our table to apologize or even acknowledge their mistakes or how rude the staff was. I get the restriction and this pandemic is not making it easier for everyone, but customer service doesn't dies during this time. You’re still running a business and have some respect and courtesy with you guest. This is basic customer service and this place had none whatsoever tonight. I can honestly say we will not return to this...
