Went for an early dinner last night as we had another event to attend later in the evening. Four of us, two couples. Moscow mules were one of the features drinks, they were good. We were there early, only a few customers present and had choice of tables, we were seated immediately. Couple behind us had to wait for a "table to be cleaned" and yes even though it was not busy, several tables had not been cleaned yet which was strange. Tried a circular booth for the round table but decided on a rectangular booth for the larger table. Fitting a table to a round booth seems to be more complicated than one would think. I have been in several other restaurants where it was a poor fit. Table too small, wrong diameter, etc. The tables in the rectangular booths are fixed to the wall. However in our booth the table was not centered and the side I was on was tight against my chest. I didn't want us to move again, so just dealt with it. It was uncomfortable thru the entire meal. Server was delightful. Attentive but not intrusive. Noticed that the music was bumped louder and the lights were dimmed several times during the course of our meal. We wondered aloud if it was actually on a timer. Towards the end of the meal, the place was fuller, the music was loud and conversation was difficult to hear across the table. The large cloth napkin was nice, the cutlery felt good in the hand. A second server bused the table to reduce clutter which was appreciated. Regarding the main course, I will simply say that the roasted brussel sprouts and garlic were my highlight. The rest was unremarkable. Ribs were warmish and the sauce seemed warmer than the meat, so we know what that means. The rice obviously precooked and the container used to reheat was simply inverted onto the plate, still perfectly pressed and formed. I think one piece of the squash was not peeled, but I did not notice until it was in my mouth and the rind was soft enough to eat. My wife really enjoyed the desert and it was well plated. I ate one of the blackberries and it was a nice fresh finish. I had coffee. I suspect that the cream was maybe 6% fat at most. Others remarked on the cleanliness, the bright clean lines, the high ceilings. The temperature was comfortable, the air was fresh, and the relative humidity was good. The bar noise and visuals were well separated from the dining area. After seeing the questions below I will comment as follows. Did not feel that my meal was worth the price paid. Only had one main and it was unremarkable. Vegetarian options and or dietary restrictions were not even a consideration for anyone at our table. Parking is ample. Entrance is at grade, the interior of facility has no stairs or levels, aisle are wide, variety of seating options, bright, clean, uncluttered so I imagine it is very easy for all to navigate. Made a reservation for the restaurant side for Saturday night, and we showed up on time. Booker made a specific detailed request for a TABLE not a booth, as we had members in our party that have mobility issues, so chairs all around are preferred, and having been to this restaurant in the past, we knew they had independent tables with chairs on all sides. It was a pretty slow night (as confirmed by one of the wait staff), so this wasn't a packed house evening. Walked to the table by our hostess and we are put at a table near the kitchen that one side is entirely a long bench. Awesome. Thanks for listening to our requests/requirements. Then, shortly after we are seated, one of the wait staff brought water, only to place each glass for every patron by the top (ie: WHERE YOUR LIPS GO), which is disgusting. This would have been ok if straws had been provided, but they were not. Yuck. In fairness the wait staff were pleasant and friendly, but that is not the only component of their role. The dining room was SUPER LOUD and you could barely have a conversation with anyone that wasn't directly across from you, and even then it was a challenge. This made for a very uncomfortable and unenjoyable atmosphere, and was not solely because of patron noise, but rather the loud music being played, loud kitchen noise, etc. Finally, getting my meal (a steak) and the food was warm at best, was the final straw. I have long praised and patronized this restaurant because I always tell folks I have never had a bad steak here, and we have visited countless times. While my steak was cooked properly and had a good flavour, it wasn't even remotely hot, and on a night where there were as few customers as there were, there is no excuse for this. I booked this reservation around a month ago and specified it was for my birthday, when the server came to our table she wasnt very friendly and didn’t ask of we were celebrating anything (even though i had made a note it was a celebration for my birthday). When our food arrived i asked for another drink and i was waiting patiently, but then I noticed the bartender wasn’t making any drinks and was on her phone texting, as was my server. They were both doing nothing, besides texting on their phones. All this was happening beside a man i assume to be a supervisor and he said nothing. After about 5 minutes of watching them texting, i flagged our server down (which took a while to get her attention, she was too preoccupied texting), and when she got to our table I assumed she just forgot which happens, so i politely asked for another drink (incase she forgot, shes human accidents happen) but when she came over she was very unfriendly and rude and looked annoyed i pulled her away from talking with coworkers. When i asked for another drink she said “shes working on it” in a very rude tone, meanwhile the bartender wasn’t even behind the bar. I felt like a total burden to our server, meanwhile she was checking on all the other table beside us giving them great customer service, yet she always looked annoyed when helping me and my friend. This occured over 2 months ago, a manager had contacted me to “make things right” and I have not received anything else from them.
