QDOBA Mexican Eats — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I didn't have high expectations for this place in the first place because it's just another Tex-Mex fast food chain but man was I disappointed. I got the steak burrito and it was absolutely terrible. There was barely any steak in it and it was a huge burrito. It was basically all beans and rice. Don't get me wrong, I love beans and rice but I didn't order a beans and rice burrito I ordered a steak burrito. Burritos are supposed to be round and easy to eat. I should be able to one hand it but not this square monstrosity. It was all sorts of wrong. The ingredients weren't distributed well, it had barely any pico in it, and there is supposed to be cheese in it but I didn't see or taste any. It didn't even have essence of cheese. Maybe the cheese was at the very bottom but I'll never know because I wouldn't even finish that garbage. Imagine if you ordered a pizza and instead of spreading your toppings all around it in layers they started at one side of the pizza and put the ingredients on it in strips across the pizza. That's what this "burrito" was like.

The other thing what bothered me is that I ordered through skip and when I went to pick it up they just had a bunch of bags sitting on a table with numbers on them. I just grabbed my bag and left. The biggest problem with this place is the super clumsy food assembly and the food taste. We were there on a busy Sunday. You could easily tell the employees assembling/serving the food hated their jobs. The problem started with the girl who took the order. She DID NOT warm-up the soft tortillas properly so they were extremely elastic-y and unpleasant to eat. The time she kept the tortillas in the press was literally only couple of seconds. Then the big guy who assembled our tacos was just throwing pieces of food on the taco tortillas with minimum care. He didn't even know what to do. He had to pause every two second to read his cheat sheet to see what ingredient is next. As a result, tacos were sloppy and very hard to eat. More importantly, the food does not taste Mexican at all. There is little or no Mexican spice in the food. The chicken is actually the worst part of it being extremely tasteless. I had the most amazing experience and interaction with Navneet and Madhav at this location. When I was trying to decide what to order they were so patient and helpful! Even shared suggestions with me on what they like as well as advising me of what options are better depending on the mood I’m in, my preferences as well as my hunger levels LOL. They were so friendly and outgoing! Truly amazing. They’re both the epitome of what great customer service should be.

I even told Navneet she should be a spokes person or something for qdoba because she is so willing to go above and beyond. They didn’t make me feel rushed and even made jokes with me and were excellent at building a great rapport.

The food was so good and I definitely took their suggestions into consideration to get the best meal! 10/10 they both deserve raises and promotions. Also great music selection playing...
