Update: Recently returned for another order, that I was craving mind you, and was pleased with a manager at the till and served the same if not better quality of food. You guys are killing it!
I waited for all three of the proposed open dates, as a recent addition to Transcona, I was excited to be part of something new. As each opening was pushed back I was more and more engaged and excited for my chance to take a bite.
The day came and I went wild with three large pizzas and hot wings.
The Northern Spicy Chicken; I'm enamoured with fresh vegetables on a pizza, but broccoli?! Wow was that a great choice! Home style crust is perfect (got the same for all three) with a fluffy and eerily "pizza hut" like grease where its not too much and just enough.
Alfredo; This was my personal winner for many reasons. The sauce was not over salted to shout "look I'm different!", the spinach was heavy but managed to add zero moisture to overpower the mozzarella. Finally the home style crust with the perfect balance of sauce to toppings was a mouth dance I can't explain.
Burger Pizza; All I can say is if you think any other location has a "meat pizza" that can compete, you're wrong. Heavy meat, heavy flavour, left the meat sweats coming.
Overall the location is a welcome addition to the area with fresh Ingredients and friendly staffing. Stay home and eat home food, Pine Pizza will bring it.

Read moreThere's lots of potential, but I think they will have to stay on top of things to make it last.
Here are some suggestions:
Try not to be too light on the cheese. Being cheap with cheese is a good way to earn a bad reputation Extra cheese shouldn't be a "premium topping" If I have a choice of 3 toppings and I don't know what to do with the 3rd, I want to be able to use it for extra cheese!! When people ask for brocolli on their pizza, don't give them all stems, they want the florets! Stay on top of your ready-made pizzas at the front counter. Don't let them get too dry.
I will definitely be coming back at least once, but try to make sure you don't fall into the same trap as some other pizza places. Don't try to gouge your customers or they will drop you in favour of other pizza places that don't jerk them around on options.
I will update this review over time to reflect things as they change! I fully think they can reach a 5 with me -- it's just going to take...
Read moreThe first time I'd ordered from Pine Pizza was one evening in the establishments first year; maybe open 6 months. After hearing rave reviews from Transcona locals. I placed my order for delivery and finished up the call. I soon got a call back from the owner telling me that the delivery driver wasn't available for the time he provided as the ETA, and that he would deliver the pizza himself as soon as he had a minute as he would need to either close for a half hour or work on skeleton staff. Within 30 minutes he pulled into my driveway with my piping hot pizza combos that tasted absolutely incredible. Talk about quality & customer service! I just placed my 2nd order with them for dinner tonight and am very much looking forward to our meal. I hope this establishment becomes a long term staple here...
