I'm in town for the week, and decided to have brunch with a friend at what used to be my favorite go too for basically any meal. However I was less then underwhelmed with my latest and what could be last visit to Stellas. We were seated quick enough, but things starting going down hill when ordering began. I ordered French toast and my friend attempted to order the salmon sandwich with soup. The server seemed slightly confused with my friends order, as she starting questioning which size of soup she wanted, which normally if its a listed side with the sandwich it should be pretty straight forward. When her soup arrived, it came with bread, which again depicted the potential mix up which was taking place. Then the order came out. They brought out a salmon breakfast for my friend, which is not what she ordered. The servers seemed confused, even though my friend said that is not what she ordered, the server again asked.. " so you don't want this?" to which my friend said no. Then she asks what she did order, where my friend informed her it was the salmon sandwich. The server said okay we will get that right out for you, a few second later the server shows up and asks what side my friend wanted... which we both at this point said the soup.. the server again slightly confused asks. " so you don't want a sandwich?". Again my friend had to explain what the original order was. I understand some days just aren't your day cognitively, but three strikes does it when you are in the service industry. To top it off, when the bills came, they had charged my friend for both the soup side and the sandwich , and although they took off $3 from the soup side price.. it was still a dollar more than she should have paid. So my friend not only OVER paid by a dollar for her food, but was not compensated at all for their mix up. Very disappointing. My French toast was okay, but pretty sure the wild berries that came with it were previously frozen, they were ice cold. Lastly, just a general comment, who charges an extra $2.25 for banana to be served with...
Read moreWe had a lovely lunch at Stella‘s yesterday. My sister-in-law ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp and she was over the moon. It was delicious. I could tell she was so happy. My husband had the chicken sandwich. I forgot what it was but it was so delicious he loved it. His plate was basically empty. He had a spinach salad with it. It was divine. He loved it. I ordered the BLT and a Caesar salad. Caesar salad was delicious not too garlicky… Most importantly, The lettuce was crisp and fresh… I do, however, have a critique about the sandwich. If I was making it, I would cut the chicken thinner. It’s good Chicken. It was delicious, but I brought half of my sandwich home and i easily cut the chicken into thinner slices. The multigrain bread was toasted perfectly, and that was great. The lettuce in the sandwich was not too wilted It was good .. I would use arugula. the piece of cheddar It was good no complaints. The bacon was not cooked properly. That half a sandwich I brought home. I cooked the bacon a bit more in my microwave because there was fatty parts on the bacon that we’re just not cooked properly and in my opinion when you build BLT bacon needs to be perfect crispy and the chicken needs to be cut thin distributed evenly in the sandwich so every bite has everything.. we love Stella we generally go to the one on Henderson highway, but this time we went on grant so we could meet my husband sister because it was closer to where she lives .. overall, we really do love Stella‘s and we will keep coming back. I just wanted to let you know about how to build a perfect BLT sandwich. I never have tomato on a BLT. I know it’s in the name but tomatoes most of the year are horrible and tasteless and just sog out a sandwich. Here’s an idea …twist it up a bit. Call it a Stella’s stellar twisted up BLT. Add a few basil leaves. No tomato.. arugula. Perfect bacon. The same chicken but...
Read moreDined in last week and was overall very disappointed. I have no plans to ever return in the future.
Stella’s used to have a reliable customer experience but it seems they don’t know how to manage a restaurant anymore.
The food took over one and a half hours to come out. With the first water refill taking around an hour to happen. When the food finally arrived two of us at our table had ordered the pad Thai. One was black and the other dish right next to it quite pale in comparison. Both tasted moderately different with one being like noodles in syrup and the other less sweet by comparison but still overly bland and sweet. Hard to call it remotely close to a pad Thai at all. It was more like ketchup and noodles with some soy sauce added.
When the server checked in to see how everything was she offered that they could do a remake. But knowing we already waited for one and half hours plus the kitchen can’t seem to figure out what a pad Thai is supposed to be. We decided to suck it up and eat the sugar noodles. After a few more mouthfuls of trying to be polite and just eat the sugar noodles, we gave up and decided we would just eat at another restaurant and take the loss from Stella’s poor service experience.
At this point, the server said that their manager would come talk to us about the sugar noodles. We waited for another 30+ minutes with no one coming to the table at all. Feeling awkwardly required to wait longer more when all you want to do is give up on this failed experience. So we went to pay at the front and leave. They ended up taking $20 off the bill but both pad Thai’s came closer to $55 before tax and tip.
Afterwards we went to a different restaurant in the area and thankfully they knew how to manage a restaurant. But unfortunately Stella’s soured the...
