I called earlier today asking if it's ok to bring a child with us. The person who answered said yes. I said, cool! I'll make a reservation at Opentable.

When we got there in the evening, we were told by the manager (bearded guy), I think that we are not allowed to be there with our child due to their policy of no person under 18yrs old after 830pm. Disappointing, coz that should have been mentioned when I called earlier prior to making a reservation.

Instead of going to Boston pizza or somewhere else, as it's also packed on the nearby restos and we don't have reservation elsewhere, my husband said he will just stay in the car with our child, and for us to just order him takeout.

We ordered 7 different pastas for Pasta Thursdays, one for takeout, which the server took together with a Pukhet bucket, a sangria, garlic fingers, and two pop. We told her the garlic fingers is a reward. The takeout Alfredo pasta came, which I brought out to my husband. Then the other 3 pastas for my family members came after a few minutes. My Phuket bucket, and my sister's sangria came too. Before the server left our table, I asked: "Is this the Phuket bucket? How come it doesn't look like what's on your Canadian Brewhouse instagram and stories?" She replied: "Not everything on social media is the same in person." Ridiculous! Especially the server's answer. Also, take note that the drink is 3/4 ice!

I followed up for the two pastas that we're missing to another server as we can't find our server after waiting/looking for her for more than 20mins, as the others in our table is done with their food and we still haven't gotten ours. She said she'll check in the kitchen. We waited for almost 10mins and she hasn't came back, so when I saw the bearded guy which I think is the manager, I asked if we could just cancel the two pastas that wasn't coming. He said he will check. He came back, and said it'll be out in 10-15mins. I told him there's no way we're still waiting for that long. He answered, "well the two pastas we're just punched in a few mimutes ago." So, the bottomline is our server forgot our freaking food and we've been waiting for nothing. And NO APOLOGIES FROM THAT BEARDED GUY! NO SYMPATHY AT ALL!

I told him I'll just cancel it and asked for our bill which will be split in two, I'll only be paying for the Phuket bucket and one pasta, and the rest in one bill. The server came back with the bill which still has the two pastas that was canceled. WE WERE STILL CHARGED FOR THE PASTAS WE DID NOT GET, AND THE REWARD WAS STILL NOT REMOVED! She said, ok let me redo it. Came back, and still has the garlic fingers that was supposed to be a reward. I told her I will be paying via gift card, she took the numbers. The bearded guy came back saying my gift card is invalid. Told him, maybe your server wrote the wrong numbers.

Overall, this family dinner that was booked in advanced was supposed a fun and fulfilling dinner. IT NEVER HAPPENED AT ALL! That bearded guy who seems to be a manager, and the server needs to be retrained. They do not deserve to be in customer service/food industry if they do not know how to do their job or at least be apologetic, and...

Profoundly handicap inaccessible. 8 tables on the patio, and 3 inside that accommodate 4 people each. I'd submit that 75 - 80% of the space is taken up by high barstools and standing height tables. If you require assistance walking or can't climb into a high bar chair, your options are very limited, and likely non-existent in the winter if they don't reserve the inside tables for handicapped people.

Service is quite slow, even with minimal patronage at around 3pm. Seems a bit understaffed, but our server was less than attentive.

Blackened chicken burger was tasty and properly cooked... Not dry at all. The fish and chips was a huge fillet with a modest amount of chips and the person who ordered it was quite satisfied. Bacon and eggs were adequately cooked with the over-easy eggs being cooked better than most places, but that isn't saying much - pretty close to over medium. A true disappointment was the Taters Supreme. A decent portion, but it consisted of nothing but tater-tots and taco meat. Little-to-no cheese, green onion, tomato, salsa, or sour cream. I'm all for meat but with nothing else on the plate it was pretty one dimensional - a few forkfuls and both my wife and I were done - it was on promotion for free but they pulled it off anyway because no one at the table was interested in finishing it.

Prices being what they are post covid it's hard to judge if this is good value, but honestly one fish and chips, a chicken burger, two bacon and eggs, a beer, and three soft drinks came to $107 after tax and without tip.

I can't say for the portions, the service, or the amenities there was good value for the money here. I'd go back for drinks, but the food was sub par and the service was slow and disinterested with too few...

This is the second time we have tried GCBH, and after 2 visits I can not recommend dining here at all. We stopped in on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020. Right off the get go I was concerned as during the current COVID restrictions, my wife was looking for a particular item on the menu when the server just reached over and started scrolling and using my wife's phone, (which you need to use for the menu). I was taken aback at that right away as she then walked away and continued tending to other patrons without washing her hands at all. Fortunately we had some hand sanitizer with us and used it for ourselves and phone. We ordered the Bacon Jalapenos, which were good, and the Steak Bites, which were inedible, very tough and chewy, (it seemed like the sauce was tasty, but we had to chew the bites forever). I asked for something else and our server obliged and she did not put the Steak Bites on the bill. We ordered the Chicken Quesadillas which comes with a salad. We were asked what kind of dressing we would like and she only gave us 3 choices, I asked if they had another type and she said yes they do have that, very odd. When the Quesadillas arrived, there was no sour cream, nor salsa, and I noticed later that you can get guacamole for an extra charge, but we were not offered that option either. At this point I was pretty much done and did not press the issue of the sour cream or salsa as it appeared we were really inconveniencing our server. All 3 items arrived luke warm at best. Our server seemed quite disinterested in general. We are in the habit of patronizing local businesses during this time, but this experience really turned us...

Three of us went for lunch, the place wasn't busy. The environment including the washrooms were very clean. It's also full of hockey and sports related knick knacks and decor, which was a bit much. But, perhaps that's just because it's not my style. The menu is extensive and not well organized. We all agreed there was too much on it and it was not easy to navigate or decide what to get. There was a button on the table which you can push to get your bill or server to come, which we all thought was a great idea but it didn't seem to work. No one came when we tried the button several times. It took about 30 mins for our food to come after ordering. When it arrived, a person's steak was far too salty and had to send it back to be remade, which they did so without issue. The server did check back to make sure it was better the second time. The rice that came with the steak was bland. My meat pizza was bland, which was surprising and odd. The other person said their burger was "okay, nothing special". All in all, I wouldn't choose to go back, but if someone invites me to meet them there, I would go again.
