I hate to say this, but after the same thing happening twice I feel that I have to. I have been going to Baraka for years (quite regularly, once every month or two, for 8+ years). I have always got the same thing because I really enjoy it, it’s always consistent, it is a good price and portion. Approximately 6 months ago, I got my usual order and ate half for lunch, saving the second half for dinner (after I refrigerated it). About 3 hours after eating, I got intense stomach cramps and violent food-poisoning symptoms. This lasted about 18 hours, and it was absolutely horrible. Baraka was the only thing I ate that day. I took a 6 month break from Baraka because I was really put off after being so sick. I was hoping it was a 24-hour flu at bad timing. So, yesterday I decided to try it again. I got the same thing, ate half for lunch, and finished it for dinner. Almost like clockwork- the exact same thing happened and even worse than the first time. I finished eating at 9pm and I woke up at 3:30am with excruciating cramps and food-poisoning symptoms. It is 3:00pm the following day, and I am still violently ill. I did not eat anything besides Baraka yesterday, and haven’t eaten anything since. Unfortunately, considering I haven’t been stomach sick at all in the past 2 years besides right after eating Baraka in these two instances- I won’t be giving it another chance. It really sucks, because I have consistently come here for years. No complaints about the staff/atmosphere/taste of food, but this is something I will...

This place is phenomenal, I order the lamb kabob without the hot sauce, and a spinach and feta pita pie! Ive been here about 10-15 times and Everytime has been excellent, and today in particular it was somehow even more satisfying than usual!

Service is great, and staff is polite, helpful, and knowledgeable...

I learned quickly to call and place my order for pickup when Im about to leave home and my wait times become nonexistent :) Because placing your order when you get to the restaurant may result in medium to long wait times...

I got a bone to pick with the people giving bad ratings over crumbs maybe left over from the last person who ate at that table... The place is always so busy, so I understand the difficulty keeping up with tables, so Simply ask a staff member to wipe it down, and they will gladly do as you ask...(thats if your too lazy to do it yourself) This place has become so popular recently that I don't think they anticipated the sheer volume of customers they get now, thus having a relatively small dining area...

Reccomend them any day...

Have been waiting over 30 min for my order in the restaurant, I went to the counter to inquire about it, the reply was that I need to wait at least another 30 min! Outrageous. Ridiculous. I don't know what else to say. Never, ever have seen something like this. I was going to argue with staff that this is not the way a private business is to be run, that they should inform their customer about all this in advance etc., but instead of wasting another amount of time or that I just left. And won't be coming back. Period. Oh, I was going to forget - it's typical for the staff behind the counter every once in a while to look at their customers, who are waiting patiently in line, then comment something in their language, then look again at these same customers and then start laughing. Who knows what they say about us, the customers - they may be laughing at us. Hey, staff at Baraka Pita Bakery - this is Canada and the official language is English. It's not polite to comment in front of us, Canadians, in your language and then laugh at us! We pay...

I debated between a 4 and 5 rating but ended up at a 5. There were many things I didn't prefer here over other offerings in the city, but they may have some of the best meat in town. Their lamb kabob was one of the juiciest. Their chicken was nice and tender with flavor. I enjoyed the Aryan drink I got. It's not made in house. They have a variety of soda, many in bottles. They also had the new Coke flavors. The atmosphere isn't great. The service is counter service with it barely being friendly. However the meat was bomb. Parking shouldn't be that difficult.... But it was when we went because of construction. Expect to park on the side streets and walk. They give take out materials but they do have a seating area if you need to sit and eat. I didn't pay so I don't know the prices. I do remember when I went to baraka originally the prices weren't bad though.

Fantastic little spot hard to notice if you’ve never been there before food is amazing !! no joke I don’t joke about good food, but I definitely talk about it .usually always very busy around supper time that’s a good sign All the desserts are to die for OMG the desserts like baklavaso good 🔥 if you’ve never tried a Shawarma before, And would like to try something different I give it my seal of approval it’s worth stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new support your local business. I guarantee you’ll love this place as much as I do These guys And girls work hard here to keep the line moving and have such tasty treats . I believe they have been here for years. It’s one of my favourite go to spots. I’m confident it will soon be yours too I am hungry now thinking about this place thanks guys!

Winnipeg's Hidden Gem. An exceptional restaurant that is truly a must-try for visitors outside of Winnipeg, and for Winnipeg residents that haven't tried their food they are truly missing out on outstanding customer service and a memorable dining experience. Their unrivaled beef shawarma is the highlight of their show, and honestly a contender for the best shawarma in the city, province, and in Canada itself. The staff here have truly perfected their craft, leading to an unforgettable meal. Each meal is crafted with unprecedented levels of attention to detail; a harmonious blend of spices that leave you wanting more. 5-stars all-around. I can not emphasize enough the remarkable skills the staff have. This restaurant is vital, an absolute treasure, in the food scene here in Winnipeg.
