Singh Sweet Mahal — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Just had an amazing meal at the new Singh Sweet Mahal at 1777 Main St. Today was their first day open, we didn’t know that. We were headed for Baraka, and then saw this place and decided to try it? So happy we did! Started with a Masala Mojito, that was incredible! It’s a spicy citrus drink! We had Butter Chicken and Rice, and curry Lamb with Naan! So good! They adjust the spice to your liking, we’re not that much into hot spicy, so we chose mild, it was perfect! We then had a dessert that was chopped rice, raisins, and nuts! Not very sweet, but so good, and perfect after a spicy meal, absolutely perfect. They’ve done a nice job with interior, very pleasant. The staff are incredibly hospitable, helpful, and great hosts. If I would be able to give a zero star, I love to do that too. They took my order. I waited for 40 minutes there to get the order. Their phone line was not working. I told them that it’s not working they checked then when they were giving me the order I checked order was missing and they gave me the reason that over the last girl just left the shift. We didn’t know that they are blaming each other rather than taking the accountability and then I have to wait 10 minutes more pakora was already called. They made the missing order for me, but when I went home and tried Fish Pokora, that was the worst taste I ever had in Winnipeg 🍁. Visited the store on October 30 to buy some sweets. After buying the sweets, I saw an offer on the whiteboard that said, 'Buy sweets for $40 and get a free plate of gol gappa,' and my total was around $46. The girl who took my order went inside and discussed with her senior, 'Do we offer him the deal or not?' and he denied. She came back, took my payment, and didn’t say anything. I didn’t want to make a scene over a few bucks or that bullshit offer. BUT the point is they think the customer is blind and dumb. If you guys are not able to provide what you are offering, then you should watch your words. Don’t think the guests are fools.
