Tony Roma's — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Horrible Horrible Experience I just had a dinner with some of my friends here tonight, our server is very nice, I really like her but the food is absolutely terrible. We ordered 2 steak and 1 pickerel, we had steak with the salad, the weirdest thing is that I brought my steak and the salad at the same time, then I had to set my steak at the side and by the time I'm eating my salad, my steak's getting colder. We ask for 2 different way to done our steak, medium and medium rare, and we both have exactly the same thing, medium well but too dry like we are eating a towel. But this is not the most terrible part, my friend's fish still had bone and it sticked in his mouth for the rest of the night, he just had a small bite and have to ask them take it away cause his mouth is bleeding. It's just ruined his dinner and make our dinner become the worst ever. The thing I feel so bad about this is when I complaint about this to the server, she's nice, she listened to us but then the manager came with an very inappropriate attitude and she had a 30 seconds conversation with us about that, she's not even mention anything about the steak, even when they made it wrong. A 30s conversation about 2 big mistakes for our steak and a horrible horrible mistake in the fish is absolutely unacceptable. The restaurant was not so busy by the time we dined in. I know it's Christmas time so I try to be nice, I complaint nicely to our server, but the way the manager spoke to us is so crazy. I went Tony Roma's Pembina Winnipeg yesterday evening with my friends to chat and relax after a big meal at another restaurant... The drinks and chicken wings were ok, but the bad thing was that the waitress didn't provide a proper service. Say, she didn't smile, not even fake ones, and even worse she acted like we owed her some money.. It's true that we didn't order a lot and sat and chatted for a few hours, but so is this not welcomed at Tony Romas? The waitress came and interrupted us many times by asking us if we were finished and ready to pay????!!! Come on, do we really look poor or what??? She never asked if we need any more water or service, but just wanted us to pay asap... I DO NOT LIKE THIS KIND OF THING... I go to restaurants a lot, no matter regular or fancy high end ones, and I was barely treated like this... If you, as a waiter or waitress, were busy, you could just leave us and mind you own things since we didn't bother you that much, huh???... But frequently asking you customers to finish up and pay when your restaurant is very empty is like you are asking me to get out!! I think it might be just her problem, cause I was treated relatively nicely by other staffs... It was a terrible terrible experience... My wife and I went here for a quick dinner. It wasn't busy despite many cars being in the parking lot. We walked in, They asked if we wanted dining room or lounge. We said dining room. They then proceeded to walk us all the way around the dining room, only to say we can seat you in the lounge. There was a ton of open tables and apparently her reasoning was she didn't want to seat us right next to another table full of people, which was odd because in the lounge they sat us next to a large table of eight women having a lively conversation about affirmative action. Apparently they didn't agree with it. The service was very good. They took our drink and food order promptly and our food was out in no time at all. I ordered the $54 special which turned out to be two miniature steak medallions that were a quarter gristle and an off color lobster tail. The lobster tail tasted awful. Hopefully I don't get sick. They did refund $25 off the bill for the lobster tail but their excuse was that some of their lobster tails just looked that way, but I've never tasted a lobster tail like that. My wife enjoyed her meal although one medallion was cooked right, the other one wasn't. I also had an old fashioned which basically tasted like water. My wife loved the baked potato soup.
