I have a love/hate relationship with this place but we keep returning! Pros: - massive array of food. Even our picky kids love it - sushi selection - great sesame chicken, bbq ribs, etc - decent salad bar, soup selection - family friendly - all-you-can-eat - even selections for healthy eating Cons: - buffets used to be the cheap option. No more. Same price (or more) than going to any middle-priced restaurant. - supper price is crazy high. Try to go at lunch. - always Soooo busy and very noisy - they don't refill the food after a certain time (more on that below) - ice cream machine NEVER works and they have a terrible selection of hard ice cream. Used to have syrups and toppings but that has been gone for ages. - at busy times (like Sundays) parking is difficult. -long wait times in Mother's Day This last time we went (Dec 2023) they had started a new rule that they don't refill the food after a certain time. It was to close for lunch at 3pm and I believe the time for no refilling the dishes was 2pm. We arrived a few minutes after that. I went in to see if there was still loads of food and there just wasn't. Not enough. We would have felt jipped. This was very frustrating because we had our hearts set on Ye's and this is the soonest we can ever arrive and we only ever go here Sundays. Well we can't anymore as there will be no refills. So we killed time for 2 hours at the mall waiting for 4:30 to arrive (we'll never do that again). With 4 hungry kids this wasn't so fun but they all wanted Ye's. This also meant our party of 7 would now cost $183 instead of $126. Not cool simply because of their new rule. So our occasional Sunday go-to restaurant after church will no longer be Ye's because we'll never arrive before 2pm.

Ye's buffet has a huge selection of Asian dishes ranging from Chinese food to dim sum and sushi. Lots of room but if you are with a big party do yourself a favour and call to reserve seats. You might be reading this review late and realize you are now a part of a huge lineup waiting for people who generally stay there for 30-45 minutes at a time. I highly recommend you follow these steps: 1. Take a step back, then walk around to review every dish available on the buffet. It will allow you to creatively prepare your first plate and plates that follow. 2. Or you can try a minimum of 2 items per choice so you receive a variety and have an opportunity to taste everything. 3. If you prefer to disregard step 1, don't regret getting something randomly that made you fuller for you next plate. With that said, your next plate should have a maximum amount of items that you learned from plate 1 is now delicious to you. 4. Save room for dessert. You will most likely need to cleanse your palette. My Ye's buffet hack is getting a fried banana (from the fried food section) and topping it off with mango soft serve. Adding caramel is optional. It's huge and has plenty of room to walk from your seat to the buffet and back. Be aware that dinner has sashimi and will always have a wait to be replenished. I also saw the same thing for skewers. Been here for parties and regular dining. My only regret was eating too much!

Monitor your bill. Make sure you're charged the correct amount. Beware there is a sign on the tables that they will charge for food wastage. I don't know about this one. I would have like to have heard mention of it prior to being seated. It can create potentially unnecessary and awkward situations, as it did for us. We were scolded for not finishing something we did not like. This place would not be my go to restaurant. Selection is better than other places such as a restaurant on regent and lagimodiere Service could improve. Food was ok, you can get the same and even better elsewhere. Staff were all staying in the room with the drink station. You can see them standing and talking to each other. If you looked out into the restaurant you could not find people who worked there. No one was clearing plates or giving refills. You had to ask for it to be done. Their comprehension was unimpressive. We dined with with children and they were all under 4, the price is $1.99. When we entered and mentioned children at the table, I was asked if they were under 12 price is $8.99 I said yes they were actually under 5. We had to get our bill changed 3 times to correct this. One child fell asleep and didn't eat. The other finished eating and changed spots to watch something off of someone's phone. They thought we were doing some magic trick of having more children than we said. They could not understand that one child moved and the other was snoring in their stroller. We even took the shade off of the stroller so the sleeping child can be viewed! Staff hide from working but they are so quick to want you to pay more. Had they been doing their job and paying attention, getting tables out as fast as possible maybe they would make more money, better tips causing less people to wait and for the spaces in the parking lot to turn over.

Edited : 5-April, 2023 Their food selections HAVE changed slightly during the pandemic, but that is to be expected. If you're looking for some Philipino based Asian food, look else where as they feature mostly Chinese, and a fairly large selection of Japanese sushi AND sashimi. I would recommend that diners try to go for as close to opening as possible to ensure the freshest selection of food. For picky eaters, some children and the very non-adventurous non asians, they also have a large salad/fruit bar along with classic American stuff like fried chicken, french fries and onion rings lol. To note though, is that I don't believe they cater for food sensitivities such as gluten, soy, crustations, or MSG. 5/10 and I would 60% recommend to my friends and family. It seems that with inflation, their regular dinner prices have increased and their quality (and quality control) has gone down. See the attached photo of a hair-like object that I found in my mixed seafood dish. I quietly brought this to the attention of the manager (who is also the host). He appreciated bringing this to his attention as he got the dish swapped out, but didn't offer any compensation for finding this!

YES! I LOVED IT!! Ye's buffet is an incredible all-you-can-eat buffet with foods from Asia as well as some caucasian dishes. Started off with a sushi plate. The sushi was fresh, tasty and well-made. I really enjoyed how the sushi had a bit of a 'chew' to the rice, making its texture very appealing. The second plate was the delicious Thai curry, Mongolian beef and all the Chinese sweet & sour pork and sesame balls I could fit! Really delicious flavours and ingredients. The desserts were okay, nothing that was absolutely outstanding, but there are many options to choose from and the ice cream bar is a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and pleasant - also filling us up with the delicious jasmine and green teas often. Highly recommend going here if you like flat-rate buffets. I also appreciated the chopsticks offering - I often go to Asian restaurants only to eat with forks, so this was a great addition to its 'authenticity'. The restaurant was clean, the seating was spacious with lots of room for many people.
