Beautiful restaurant / bar, in the heart of Sal Rei.
The food was lovely, fish pie in particular was my personal highlight. I also had a banoffee dessert which was incredible.
The drinks were a bit hit or miss, the daquari was lovely but the pina colada was tasting a little sour, likely just the type of coconut milk used. I’m sure other cocktails would be fine.
The staff were fantastic and service was quick.
If you do go to this restaurant absolutely book/reserve in advance as we did not and had to sit inside rather than outisde.
This was fine as the interior is gorgeous but the outside was where the real experience was, we luckily were able to move out side for dessert and the outdoor seating here is beautiful. There was a live band and just the general vibe was immaculate.
All in all a lovely evening and not too expensive, we paid ~£50 for 2 people, 2 starters, 2 mains with 2 sides, a dessert...
Read moreThe atmosphere and the food was great, but the service is slow and incompetent. The place is busy, you have to reserve a table beforehand. We arrived on time, a lot of tables were still empty. We got seated next to a noisy and I must say, inconsiderate, vulgar and disrespectful British family with very loud kids. It was disturbing as they were the only ones sitting in the room with us, we could barely hear each other. We asked the staff for another table, as there were still plenty available, despite being reserved. They said they were fully booked. During our dinner we saw that some people walked in without reservation to have a few drinks and got seated elsewhere, also some tables were moved/rearranged. We did not understand why they did not help with our request. When we left we politely gave the same feedback to the staff. They should have moved the table elsewhere or give us any of the...
Read moreWe went twice to Sodade. This is probably the best restaurant in the island.
The first night we sat in one of the outside areas and reserved the vegan catchupa. Food was great, amazing vibe - it was a Tuesday so they had live music which created a good atmosphere - and the servers were very nice.
The second night we sat in a room inside. This restaurant is gorgeous! We tried two different fish and a few sides - it was delicious. I would say it's typical Cape Verdian cuisine but elevated.
If you have intolerances or dietary restrictions this is also the place for you. They have vegetarian and vegan options, and naturally gluten-free dishes.
You can also just go for drinks and sit at the bar.
The restaurant is catered for tourists but seems like some locals sometimes hang out there. You can have a full Cape Verdian experience here....
