I would probably give Aqua a 4.5 if I could. The new location is beautiful, but a little hard to find with GPS so get directions from your concierge. The outside seating area has a view that looks like a movie set from the 1940’s. It was so quaint and beautiful. The food was really good. We would definitely go back. My chicken was delicious and my husband’s fish was great too. Portions are quite large so it was tough to eat both an appetizer and our whole entree. There was no room for dessert. Drinks were good too. Very flavorful and artistically described. However, the cocktails were so flavorful that they were a bit much to drink while eating. Would be better enjoyed as a pre dinner drink and then switch to something lighter during the meal. Service was great too. We would rate Aqua as our second best restaurant experience while on Grand Cayman. We liked it better than the Cracked Conch, Ritz and...
Read moreThe atmosphere was nice and beautiful, but my goodness, the food was awful!!! We ordered the lobster appetizer which was the fishiest tasting lobster I've ever had- just not good at all. The server was nice and offered to switch it out and recommended the octopus as "the best thing on the menu." So we tried it. Seriously, awful. Tasted like a chewy dog toy that had been barbequed. Our two entrees were the chicken, which was a flattened piece of fatty very average tasting chicken- almost like a cheap chicken steak. And then the risotto which to even call it al dente would be a stretch. And that's from two people that love pasta al dente. All in all, extremely disappointed and would never go back and never recommend. Spent $170 USD for a meal that I would've been just as upset about had I spend $30. Only reason I gave it 2 stars was the atmosphere was nice and the staff...
Read moreAgua is a seafood culinary gem located in Camana Bay. I usually dine in for special occasions, and I always bring visiting guests for dinner. I've dined indoors and outdoors, and the service is always impressive. Outdoor gives a more intimate setting as you are seated under the seagrape trees and overlook the water. Indoor can get a bit loud but might be better for persons sensitive to bug bites. A must-have on their menu is the ceviche, and I usually get the trio (3styles) to taste the different flavours. I've had the tuna and snapper for entrees, and they are usually cooked to perfection. I recently tried the tagliatelle pasta, and I was pleasantly surprised with tuna crudo mixing in with the flavors of the pasta sauce. Make sure you leave some space for dessert as there are a few good options, with my favorite...
