Loco Cayman — Restaurant in George Town

I just left Loco and I had to write this review right away.

I already tried this restaurant once in person and not a soul enjoyed their food. All of us found bugs in our margaritas.

Reluctantly, I got them for takeout and decided to try a few other menu items and was appalled at the lack of flavor and just overall tastefulness. Here is what we got for a whopping total of $99 KYD.

Steak Burrito - 1/5 lacked flavor completely. Male taking the order said it was gonna come with sauce on the side it didn’t. Came with nothing and when we called back the other male who answered tried very little to offer a solution.

Carne Asada Taco- 3/5 Probably the only thing that had flavor but $10 for a single taco? Highway robbery. Casa 43 would never.

Al Pastor Taco- 1/5- Lacked flavor and horrible price to size ratio

Guava Ribs- 1/5- They lied. This had 0 flavor much less guava. Not even a dash of salt was added to this meal. The coleslaw and elote that came with it was equally as horrible.

Tres Leches 2/5 -Didn’t know someone could ruin cake but it was equally as flavorless as everything else. Dry and had a weird berry compote on top.

Fries 1/5 -They literally gave us a kids portion of fries. Horrible.

Jalepeno Relleno 1/5- Not sure how they managed to make a jalepeno and bacon lack flavor.

If you are visiting Cayman and want to try good food, skip this place. They’re charging whatever they want and giving you whatever they want on your plate. Worst Camana Bay restaurant I’ve tried.

We had a fantastic experience here! Staff was stellar, food was absolutely delicious and bathrooms were perfectly clean. We had the chicken,steak and red snapper taco- they did not disappoint! We also had the jalapeño things and they were VERY good! I was glad for the smaller plates of chips, guacamole & salsa so we had room for the main courses. We have been coming to Cayman every year since 2009 and this is in the the top 5 best places we’ve ever eaten. Only here for a week but this place is on repeat! I hate to leave less than positive reviews but I rely on them when we are traveling, so feel the need to provide an honest review. The restaurant is in a cool restaurant/boutique shopping area called Camana Bay with several restaurant options and a nice area you can hang out overlooking a little inlet that is very nice.

We were there for lunch and had guacamole and tacos de barria. The guacamole was really good; flavorful and smooth. The tacos were a real letdown though. Almost no flavor at all and the spicy sauce was nothing but. Watery and nothing there.
