I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was just a terrible experience.
I called to order takeout sushi, plus one kitchen item, for 4 people at 5:45 and was told 20-25 minutes. I got to the restaurant at 6:10 and was told my order wasn't ready yet. Sat, waited, and watched a couple of delivery men come in, take orders and leave. The staff were nice enough, at one point checking in to tell me that the sushi wasn't ready yet. At 6:25, 40 minutes after I called, a large order came out and they said it was mine; it didn't look quite right to me, so I asked them, "are you sure? these three bags?" and they said yes. So OK, loaded the order into my car and drove home.
I'm almost back to our hotel when I get a call from the restaurant (on my US cell phone, so I'm paying $3/min to talk to them) to ask where I was. Uh, I'm almost home. They said they thought they might have given me the wrong order. I tell them my kids are hungry, I'm taking the food I have back to them, and I expect them to deliver the correct order. I get home and find that, yes, they gave me the wrong order. So I call them, and they ask me what I want to do. Excuse me? You should make this right by sending a driver with my order. But OK, I'm charitable and tell them I will bring the order back to them, minus a couple dim sum items my kids will eat. They agree. So I do so, and I pick up my correct order at 6:45, an hour after I called them. For my hour of trouble I got many apologies but no real concessions.
The food was, sadly, not worth the wait: Siu mai - real siu mai has shrimp, shitake mushrooms, and tobiko. This had none of those. It was a dense pork meatball in a wonton wrapper. Frankly, I've had better frozen siu mai in the USA.
Sushi - rice was almost inedible. They did not use sushi rice. Instead, we got gummy short grain rice with too much vinegar. The quantity used was also too much, as if they were a sushi buffet trying to save costs. The fish was fine - nothing special but no major flaws. As a point of comparison, the fish was a step above Whole Foods sushi and the rice was several...
Read moreWe are regular clients there for the teriyaki outside dinner. We have never been disappointed by the food. We have a French friend at home at the moment, the last time she came was just after covid and the teriyaki dinner was not proposed. We wanted to book for 3 persons for the coming week, anytime... The minimum is 4 pax, so we asked if we can join other guests, It was possible before to be waiting listed. Today, was too complicated for the woman in charge. She told us that she have to contact the other 4 person, finally she call us back to say that it won't be possible because one of the client has a see food allergy... Most of items proposed during this dinner is see food ! unbelievable ! The woman didn't proposed us to be waiting listed for another day... great customer service ! I'm kidding...
We are all very disappointed... unprofessional ? unable to manage a reservation? too rich ? too lazzy ?
They have lost regular...
Read moreWe had a wonderful dinner — the service was outstanding from start to finish. The only drawback was the music, which seemed to loop continuously and became a bit distracting after a while.
We started with the edamame sprinkled with citrus salt, a refreshing twist on a classic appetizer. I tried the Che Cherry cocktail — be warned, it does have a hint reminiscent of cherry NyQuil 😉 but still an enjoyable sip overall.
For our mains, we shared the Pad Thai with chicken (highly recommend the chicken — it was exceptionally tender and flavorful) and the Dragon Roll, both beautifully presented and delicious.
The menu is quite extensive, so we’re already looking forward to returning and sampling more dishes next time.
Overall, it’s a lovely spot for a date night — elegant ambiance, attentive service, and...
