Showing my friend around Cayman and wanted to show her a place that was nicer with a classy atmosphere. The outdoor patio area was the selling point. However, when we came around 10pm, we were told by the manager that they close at 11pm even though the restaurant typically closes at 12am. I figured it was a slow night, and on island they tend to close early if a restaurant is dead. However, he seemed annoyed that we wanted drinks until 11pm then told us to go to PD’s (we were dressed up - PD’s is a dingy sports bar) if we wanted to drink until 12am. He was basically pushing us out the door the moment we got there.
The only reason I rated this with a 3 is due to the 5 star experience from our waiter who was so kind, accommodating, and gave us great drink recommendations. Thank you to the new waiter from Australia - your customer service is impeccable!
I have had a better experience when this place was packed, but one bad experience can ruin 3 good experiences. I might give them another chance...
Read moreWe had dinner here tonight, nine people. Everyone cleared their plates. Appetizers and meals were all phenomenal. The shrimp poke appetizer was so good we had to order another so everyone could try it. Two in our group who don’t like seafood tried it and were impressed. The shrimp linguine was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. My wife got a Caesar salad with salmon that was excellent. Two people got the Piri Piri chicken and said it was great and didn’t even need a knife to cut it. Same for the filet. The key lime pie was fantastic. Shout out to our waitress, Lene. She was very helpful and tolerant of our shenanigans. If I ever make it back to Grand Cayman again Saltwater Grill we be a...
Read moreOrdered the conch fritters and the crab cakes. The fritters were okay, not great but not bad. The crab cakes were made correctly and tasted good. We ordered the shrimp linguine and the saltwater grill. The pasta was good but the seafood grill was not worth the price in my opinion. No flavor and in some cases most of it was overcooked. It came with 1 scallop, 2 shrimp, small piece of grilled calamari, lobster tail and a large Prawn. The blackened mahi mahi was the only thing that didn't seem overcooked. I do recommend the "tall drink of water" cocktail, it was delicious.
The restaurant was nice on the inside, but i found the lighting in the booths to be...
