After a long drive from San Pedro the first impressions of Iquique were not so positive: a busy, noisy, not too clean port city. Fortunately, the hotel is located outside of this bustle in a neat neighborhood on the beach. They don't have much parking space for such a high tower. Fortunately there was still room in their small underground parking garage. The reception at the reception was smooth, friendly and in English. We were given a room on the 8th floor. Our first impression was "WOW". A spacious suite consisting of a room with a large double bed, terrace and flat screen, a separate sitting area with sofa, desk and another flat screen and a bathroom with shower, sink, bidet and toilet.||Unfortunately, the shower faucet did not work. The technician came by quickly but could not solve the problem. The very friendly clerk at the reception apologized to us and promised an upgrade on the top floor. However, this room was exactly the same size, with an equally large bed, a larger terrace and a more spacious shower, but without a sitting area. I would not really speak of an upgrade here, but well, the problem with the shower was solved and the view was grandiose. We have eaten in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious. Also the breakfast the next day was as...
Read moreWe stayed here for a week. This was our first visit to Iquique and this turned out to be a terrific location. The hotel has three restaurants and all are very good. Breakfast is served at the Casablanca that overlooks one of the pools. We had lunch at Rick's -a great spot for a sandwich and Estrella Damm beer. Dinner at El Sombrero is a must - amazing seafood and views. Ask for a table by the water. ||||We enjoyed lounging by the pools in the comfy lounge chairs. The beach is minutes away but it is so entertaining to watch the kayakers, swimmers, banana boat riders, etc from the comfort of lounge chairs. We never felt crowded or had difficulty in getting lounge chairs.||||The view from the room was amazing. There are some newer hotels nearby but none have an open air balcony off their suites. We felt it was worthwhile to have a superior ocean view room here and keep the patio door open at night and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.||||The staff are really nice and helpful - especially Eduardo in the lobby. ||||Our only disappointment was the WIFI that would come and go (mostly go) in waves. ||Fix the WIFI and all will have a delightlful experience at...
Read moreRoom is awfully cleaned. The shower is old and with calcium on it. The walls are sticky and they have hairs of people on them. The "new" lights are poorly installed as you can see in the pictures. Even the brochure of the hotel is full of stains. The closet has a thing broken in it. The windows are not cleaned and are extremely rusty because of the humidity. The majority of the walls have stains. And lets not talk about the curtain. It has stains all over it and some hairs of the previous guests. The bed is clearly 20 years old and the springs sound when you sit on it. There are also moles on the bottom side of the shower, where the water goes away. The walls have inflated a lot because of the humidity( see pics). The phone is also nasty. The TV is installed in a very strange position. The ac unit is also in very bad conditions. The room was clearly remodeled, but it still is a 1980s room only with 2015 furniture. |The windows have no...
