Beautiful cafe. Excellent food. Well established location. Have been coming here since 2000. Service was always stellar... until this last time. Service was spotty. When good it was great. But, when bad it was frustrating. We asked for hot milk to add to overly sweet hot chocolate (willing to pay). Instead they took the half empty cup (saying they would add milk in kitchen) and instead brought back a small cup of hot chocolate mixed with WATER. Not good! Shame because hot cocoa before was delicious. This one was not.
Another day, we ordered two tostadas to-go for the following morning and informed them it was for a morning trek that we needed to be ready just to pick up and go. Instead, that following morning, the head cashier reprimanded me for being 20min. late as the food would get cold. I told her I knew and accepted the consequences. Just give me my order. Instead, they evidently lied that they couldn't find the order, then that the order was found and was being put in a bag for us (for 15 additional minutes?). So, evidently they had always decided to have us wait while they made our order fresh. They never intended this to be ready for pick up and go. I will not be returning here...
Read moreWe recently visited Cassis in Pucón to celebrate my in-laws’ wedding anniversary, and it was a truly memorable experience. We ordered two share platters for our group of six, and it was more than enough! Every dish was flavorful and perfectly portioned, making it an ideal option for sharing. As always, the Pisco Sour was a showstopper – it’s simply to die for and remains a personal favorite.
We couldn’t resist ending the meal with their incredible ice cream, which was the perfect finish to a fantastic dining experience. Cassis has built a stellar reputation for its food, and it’s easy to see why. Their history as a family-owned establishment that has grown into one of the must-visit spots in Pucón adds a special touch to the experience.
However, it’s worth noting that the restaurant was super busy during our visit. The atmosphere, while lively, made it quite hard to hear each other when the place was full, which could be challenging for anyone looking for a quieter dining setting.
Overall, Cassis delivers outstanding food, and despite the noise level, it’s a place I’d highly recommend for anyone...
Read moreThe food was OK the service was terrible. I asked if I could have a table on arrival but had to wait ages for someone to come over. I called someone to ask for a menu and it was digital only. I had no data so asked for WiFi, he rolled his eyes at me before letting me tether off his phone. I waited a long time for someone else to come over and asked to order. The service improved with this lady but when I was finished I waited about 20 minutes for my plate to me cleared whilst other tables around me settled up their bills. Eventually I flagged down the lady for the bill and was short changed. I had to wait again to get someone's attention to flag. They said something I didn't understand and again rolled their eyes. She worked it out on her phone and agreed it was short so I got my money back. Staff more interested in handing out sweets to trick or treaters than serving...
