Our first day in Beijing. To order Beijing duck is a no brainer. You have to order the whole duck even just two persons. Essentially one dish meal. No rice or other dishes need to be added to complete the dinner. The famous roast duck is served with paper thin pastry, herbs and sauces. The bony part of the duck is boiled into a delicious soup. There is an error in the hanyu pinyin translation of the restaurant name. Yi He Ya Ju. Well, who cares?

Our tour company brought us here for a fantastic lunch including Peking duck. It's a really beautiful old building where we were able to eat outdoors in really lovely surroundings. The restrooms are in the outside courtyard. Highly recommended!

Excellent place with excellent cooking. Located inside Ritan Park, it is a tough one to see from the road. Ordered the Peking Roast Duck, had to wait 45 minutes for it. In the end, it was worth it. Roasted peking duck comes with lot of add ons, you don't need to order seperate add ons. By the way, do not order peking duck alone or 2 person combined, it is at least 4 persons food.

Located inside the Kunlun Hotel this is an excellent Chinese restaurant with a huge food selection. The menus are available with photos on iPads which is very convenient for westerners like myself who don’t recall the name of the dishes. The staff are very friendly but speak little to no English. This isn’t much of an issue as the iPads do the trick when it comes to...
