I would suggest anyone who try to make reservation with Gustaci should think twice.

My friends and I are planning to have a big NYE party and we made reservation for 9pm-11pm on NYE with Gustaci for 23 pax. We made that reservation in early November and put down our credit card to confirm that reservation. We received text message on Dec 4 from Gustaci informed us there is another party having an “on going enquiry” about booking the whole place and they are moving our booking to earlier time slot and we have to return the table by 8:30pm. Another news from them is that their liquor license is held off and guest have to BYOB.

We were shocked by this text message as that shouldn’t be the way of running the business. We had a confirmed reservation since early November!!! People have made plan accordingly based on this plan!!! We can't help but think Gustaci have ditched our reservation when there is a bigger group “enquire” the space, and instead of discussing with us about how to resolve this, Gustaci simply “informed” us and expect us to take whatever is offered?

I called Gustaci right away and asked about the detail of the situation. I also asked if another party is informed about a group of 23 had a confirmed reservation at the same time slot (9pm)? The lady in Gustaci can’t give any answer of this and only said that there are many staff taking care of that reservation, and she didn’t know the detail. In the end of the conversation with my expression of how poorly they handled our reservation, she agreed we could keep our original time slot (9pm).

The next day, Gustaci sent over another text message from another person, saying the 9pm time slot has been booked by another party for the whole venue and they no longer open for other group. We are very confused by this message from Gustaci as in fact we are not enquiring to book but already have a confirmed booking! There is no other follow up message from Gustaci afterwards.

So, I would suggest anyone who try to make reservation with Gustaci should think twice. If a confirmed reservation could be changed without discussion with the guest who made that reservation, I am not sure how to expect any good service from them.

Pasta = Biggest rip-off ever! Arrived for lunch and wanted to sit outside, but they let us know that if we had lunch on the terrasse it’s self service (therefore we have to go order inside, set the table ourselves, and get our dishes inside as well) which is fine… until you see the bill at the end and end up paying the 10% service charge, which in Hong Kong is normal, yes, but there was no service…why charge us??? Then the dish I wanted was sold out (but the restaurant was empty). But this isn’t the worst part: We all ordered the set lunch which is HKD 168 during the week, I order fried cauliflower as an appetizer (I didn’t take a picture but it was really quite small and it didn’t even come with a sauce so it was quite dull), and then had the raviolis and a coffee. When the raviolis arrived, I thought they had mixed up my order and had brought me an appetizer instead (see picture) … I literally had 3 raviolis, which took me 2 minutes to eat, and they were really not that great: flavorless ricotta inside and a very sweet sauce. I had come here before for pizza for dinner, which is better. I think the only nice thing to have is their pizza. I found it very strange that a pizza is the same price as my 3 raviolis with Ricotta… Even after talking to the restaurant staff they didn’t even offer anything, not great customer service. In the end it was WAY overpriced. With HKD 190 (incl. service charge) you can have a proper meal in Hong Kong! P.S. I think they also had a problem printing their menus as most of the "f"s...

I’ve been shopping at Gustaci grocery store and supported the business since its soft open. The staff there was always nice, and they recommended me to try their restaurant. I’ve ordered delivery from the restaurant before, and the pizza was delicious. However, my dine in experience at the restaurant was absolutely sub-par, especially the unprofessional services quality.

The waitress couldn’t even give the dish information right. When I asked specifically if there’s any greens in the Burrata salad, she said: “ yes, it’s Burrata salad”, as if I don’t know what a Burrata is. And when the dish came, of course there was no greens. Just wanted to know exactly how the dishes are done here, so I can decide on what I want. But the waitress failed on that.

I was seated at the very back end corner of the restaurant. I also have to waive my hand to ask for my bread, which comes with the meal. What’s more, the first dish I got was the coffee, which is supposed to come at the end of the meal. And I have to wait for the main dish for more than 20 min after I finish the appetizer.

I understood i came during the rush hour, and I was just a solo diner who ordered the cheap lunch set. However, the lunch experience here is just very...

Value for money but would go elsewhere for pizza. Portion wise, the pizzas were quite large for one person. For margherita pizzas, I prefer motorino instead. The outdoor patio has some smokers nearby so recommend sitting inside. The bread seems to be sourdough which is quite nice with the oil and vinegar. Not the best oil. The appetizers/antipasti were nice; the meatballs' crust was nice though a bit crumby and rough — the sauce was the best part of the dish with some cheese sprinkled. The Zuppa del Giorno/pumpkin soup was nicely salted but prefer the meatballs instead. The marinara pizza is also fine, nothing too special. The tomato sauce tastes ordinary with oregano. A bit disappointing as a sauce. The margherita pizza has too much cheese, making the pizza a tad to salty after a couple of bites. The tomato sauce is not salty. The crust is nothing special. The pizza is indeed Italian-style pizza so the center is soft. The tiramisu is fine, wine taste could be stronger. The coffee tastes like Italian coffee, strong body, not too acidic, some good bitterness.

Came here for lunch on the weekend before exploring PMQ! I got the Neopolitan pizza which was quite good, but nothing to write home about considering the prices. The portions are fairly large. I would say that one pizza would be too much for one person and too little for two people to share. I did enjoy the restaurant’s aesthetics and found the environment to be quite peaceful, but that might have been because it wasn’t busy at the time. My friend and I were sitting in a corner area, so it felt very private although slightly neglected as it took us a while to flag down a waiter. We thought they were running low on staff, but noticed that they were just congregated near the bar and didn’t make the rounds regularly, so I think this could be improved. Another thing of note is that the bathroom is not inside the restaurant. The staff will direct you towards the PMQ public bathrooms.
