We went to Pick at the end of a long evening. It had been a long day out and the end of it, we were looking for a nice and cosy meal. We had wrapped up our day with the Ferry and then took a cab to reach Pici from Tsim Tsa Shui pier.
When looking for the place, we had to get off the cab and walk a couple of minutes from the main road to get to Pici. Once we got in (there wasn't a wait time, luckily, in spite of us not having reserved ahead of time, we were seated.
The magic then started to happen.
We were looked after so well by Eunice (from Philippines) and Bibi (from Pakistan - a sweet touch given the background of what's happening curently, as of May 2025, between our two countries).
The food was delicious. One of us ordered the pasta (the 7 year old) and he loved it!! He claims it was his favorite lasagna to date. He hasn't had many plates of lasagna, but still. I had a little bit myself and loved it. The other adult was trying to choose between two dishes, at which point, Eunice suggested a combination of the two by giving the 'Nduja with a tagliatelle. This was a combination of two dishes and exactly what the adult was looking for. I went for the Mediterranean salad and the Papardelle beef cheek. We also had the octopus salad. The food overall was delicious. Eunice had also recommended a lovely red wine to go along with our meal. The whole meal was delicious.
What made it better?
Just as we were starting the meal, there was a birthday celebration at another table and the crew joined in to sing along for that guest. It was a nice touch..
At the end, as much Bibi wasn't ok with it, she went ahead with our choice for a Gelato (Mandarin - and boy was it good!!!). We had had a Gelato earlier in the day but we had ended up wasting half of it as it wasn't any good..but this Gelato was delicious! We could taste the citrus and it was so fresh and delicious.
I just got back and am posting this. That's how good the overall experience was - in a quaint little place, that's cozy and nice.
I would love to go back and if you are craving for some good, heart warming comfort food and be welcomed by a wonderful team, do visit Pici. You will not go...
Read moreI had a great experience at Pici Causeway Bay, so I decided to try the Hollywood Road location near my Aunt and Uncle's. Unfortunately, this visit was a stark contrast. While I was seated quickly and my drink order (Lambrusco) arrived promptly, things took a turn when the service became inconsistent. After the extreme nice host (who I never saw again) assured me a server would come soon, I waited 10 minutes before the table next to me, who arrived after me, had their order taken. Throughout my meal, I noticed that white customers received faster service and more attention, with regular water refills, while I only had one water refill at the end of my meal. Also a group of Filipino tourists was struggled to get service, which was ironic given the Filipino staff; this kind of inconsistency is something I’ve rarely experienced back home in Canada & the US, except once at Joe Beef in Montreal, where management addressed the issue and comped my meal.
The food, however, was a highlight. The octopus salad had great flavor, though the octopus pieces were uneven in size. The hairy crab pasta had more crab than noodles (perhaps a ravioli might of been better for the pasta), making it an uneven experience. The Cacio e Pepe was well-flavored but felt a bit richer than expected after a few bites, did they add panna or something? In the end, the food was good, but the service and portion control need improvement. I also couldn't shake the feeling that the service was inconsistent at this locations, particularly for non-white customers. But even if it was a coincidence I had two great servers/host and they just vanished into thin air, they weren’t even on the floor after my interactions with them. It’s like if they were ghosts from a better time. It just shows inconsistency and I finally get why people give Pici grief for being a chain restaurant after a great experience one location and a slightly awkward...
Read moreThis Saturday afternoon, I bring my lil’ sister here. This is our first time experiencing by suddenly searching google the restaurant nearby. We order the brunch set for 2 persons (that only cost $268 HKD/ person), and for $99 free drink flow for 1 hour per person. The lady names Abby who is very helpful and friendly to serve us. We totally have the very 5* rated experience here. And for sure, will be here next time soon 🥰.
Ambience & Service: Pici has a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere — perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. The open bar seating gives a warm, authentic Italian trattoria feel, and the staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive.
Food: The tagliatelle pasta was outstanding — perfectly al dente, with a rich tomato-based sauce and generous chunks of lobster. The flavor was fresh and well-balanced, not overly creamy or salty. You can really taste the quality of ingredients.
Drinks: The cocktails were creative and refreshing! The kiwi mocktail was zesty and light, while the other had a nice herbal twist. Both were well-presented with striped straws and garnishes — visually stunning and delicious.
Desserts & Coffee: The panna cotta with berry sauce was silky and not too sweet, and the tiramisu had a creamy, smooth texture with just the right coffee flavour. The cappuccino came beautifully frothed and paired perfectly with the desserts. And the Tiramisu was totally melted in mouth at the first taste.
Overall: A fantastic spot for authentic Italian comfort food with a modern touch. The presentation, flavors, and service all exceeded expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality pasta and desserts in a relaxed,...
