BKK, nestled in the heart of PMQ, is an exceptional Thai restaurant that takes diners on an unforgettable gastronomic journey through the flavors and traditions of Thailand. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an atmosphere that combines the warmth of Thai hospitality with a contemporary and stylish setting.

The attentive and friendly staff at BKK immediately make you feel welcome, ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is flawless. Their knowledge of Thai cuisine is remarkable, and they are more than happy to guide you through the menu, offering recommendations tailored to your preferences. The level of service is exceptional, striking a perfect balance between attentiveness and allowing guests to savor their meals at their own pace.

Now, let's delve into the highlight of the dining experience—the food. BKK boasts an extensive menu that showcases the diversity and complexity of Thai cuisine, and each dish is a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs.

To start, I highly recommend the Tom Yum Goong, a quintessential Thai soup. BKK's rendition is an explosion of flavors—spicy, tangy, and aromatic—featuring succulent prawns immersed in a fragrant broth infused with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal. It is a perfect balance of heat and sourness that awakens the palate and sets the stage for the culinary journey to come.

Moving on, the Pad Thai at BKK is undoubtedly one of the best I have ever tasted. The dish is a harmonious blend of rice noodles, tender shrimp or chicken, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, and a delightful tamarind-based sauce. The balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors is executed with finesse, resulting in a dish that is both familiar and revelatory.

For those seeking a more fiery experience, the Green Curry with Chicken is an absolute must-try. The creamy coconut milk-based curry is infused with a medley of aromatic herbs and spices, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on the tongue. Tender chunks of chicken, bamboo shoots, and Thai basil add depth and texture, making each bite a tantalizing delight. Paired with fragrant jasmine rice, it is a dish that embodies the soul of Thai cuisine.

BKK also offers a range of other traditional Thai dishes that are worth exploring. The Pad Kra Pao, a stir-fried dish of minced meat or seafood with holy basil, chili, and garlic, is a robust and aromatic option. The Massaman Curry, with its rich and complex flavors derived from a blend of spices and peanuts, showcases the influence of Indian and Muslim culinary traditions on Thai cuisine.

To complete your culinary adventure, indulge in BKK's delectable desserts. The Mango Sticky Rice is a timeless Thai classic that never fails to delight. The combination of perfectly ripe mango slices, sticky rice infused with coconut milk, and a drizzle of sweet coconut sauce is a harmony of textures and flavors that leaves a lasting impression.

In addition to the exceptional food, BKK's attention to detail extends to its elegant and contemporary interior design. The restaurant strikes a perfect balance between modernity and Thai-inspired elements, creating an ambiance that is both inviting and sophisticated. The comfortable seating, soft lighting, and tasteful decorations contribute to an overall dining experience that is immersive and memorable.

In conclusion, BKK at PMQ is a culinary gem that transports diners to the vibrant streets of Thailand. With its attentive service, outstanding flavors, and inviting atmosphere, it is a must-visit destination for both Thai cuisine enthusiasts and those seeking an extraordinary dining experience. BKK's commitment to preserving the authenticity and richness of Thai flavors is evident in every dish, making it a standout among the Thai restaurants in the city. Prepare to embark on a culinary adventure that will leave you...

BKK, started with a big hype all over Instagram. We reserved our table and as we arrived, there was a buzz around the place, plenty of people waiting around to be seated. I had high expectations. For me service is measured by attentiveness and efficiency or speed and both were lacking in this experience. In fairness staff were busy with a full house but the constant waiting to catch a waiters eye made it a little unenjoyable. Music was incredibly loud and difficult for me or wife to have a decent conversation- I don’t mind background music but I also didn’t turn up to a nightclub. Finally the food was the most dissatisfying part. Firstly the items we wanted were sold out, it was only 8PM on a weekday dinner evening so I found that a little surprising. Secondly Menu says Waygu Beef but having tasted Waygu beef all over Hong Kong and even in Japan, there is absolutely no way this comes even close to tasting like Waygu. I don’t want to falsely accuse the restaurant for not actually selling Waygu Beef but it definitely seemed like the most average, normal beef I’ve tasted even when cooked at home. Waygu has a sense of softness, melts in your mouth, gives you an excellent lasting feeling but this was very chewy, very lean meat. Tasted fine, just not Waygu. We also ordered some beef curry but seemed very average. No rice were served with the curry and neither were we told by the waiter to order any rice. When the food arrived I realised we’ll need rise, now frankly steamed rice should be ready and available within seconds. We had to wait almost 10 minutes for rice to arrive as if it was another plain dish. Curry was ice cold under the air conditioner as the rice arrived and so the overall experience became lame very quickly. By the end of it, the bill came to 822 HKD for 1 x starter, 2 x mains and 2 x drinks. I definitely didn’t enjoy my experience nor the value for money we paid considering HK is absolutely lauded with world class restaurants at every corner of its streets. With many more options, I would expect this place will be overlooked if quality of food and service continues to be this mediocre.

That’s my honest and...

🍜✨ Stepped into a slice of Thailand right here in HK at BKK Thai Street Food - a gem serving up authentic, halal Thai cuisine that had my tastebuds dancing!🌶

Here's the review on my dinner adventure: First up, the Chargrilled Chicken Satay (7/10) - While the smoky, tender chicken had me at hello, the peanut sauce sidekick didn't quite make the connection I was hoping for. It was missing that punchy, umami kick that usually makes satay unforgettable. 🍗🥜 But let's talk about the star of the show - the Pad Thai with Prawns. A flawless 10/10! 🦐🍜 The rice noodles were the perfect vessel for the succulent prawns, each bite a harmonious blend of sweet, sour, and nutty flavors that had me swooning. It's the kind of dish that reminds you why you fell in love with Thai food in the first place. Then came the Pad See Ew with wok-fried Wagyu beef (8/10). The beef was tender, the noodles slick with a savory sauce, and the addition of egg and kailan brought it all together in a delightful symphony of flavors and textures. 🥩🍳 Sipping on Calamansi Lemonade (9.7/10), the perfect mix of tangy and sweet, was like a refreshing breeze on a hot day. 🍋💦 The Mango & Passionfruit Slushie (8/10) was a tropical dream, though it veered towards a mango lassi vibe - not that I'm complaining. 🥭🍹 Dessert was the only misstep - Coconut Ice Cream (3/10). While the ice cream itself was decent, the combination of corn and peanuts as toppings was a no-go for me. 🍦🌽

The ambiance? Pure Thailand vibes, from the decor to the warm, welcoming staff. 🇹🇭💗 For my Muslim friends in Hong Kong craving authentic Thai flavors, BKK Thai Street Food is a must-visit. You're in for a treat - just maybe skip the ice...

Booked this place for dinner with my friend at 7pm on Saturday night. The place was 70% empty despite it being a weekend. It was quite difficult to put down our bags because of the design of the chairs but no one offered any extra chair/small stool for this so we just grabbed an empty chair that's next to the service area (not from another table). Seconds later this staff came over super rude and snobby saying we're not allowed to steal chairs like that since apparently ALL the chairs were reserved for the night (including the one which we grabbed and wasn't even put next to any of the tables). One big restaurant like this and not a single empty chair apparently. We left without eating and went to Pici next door - the whole place was packed and we took the last two seats. This is the kind of restaurant that will do well. Not BKK. There are many ways to politely ask someone to do something but clearly this staff wasn't taught basic courtesy at home and has no business in hospitality whatsoever. I would fire this kind of obnoxious staff in a heartbeat if I were the boss. Dumb way to lose business in this tough environment for F&B.

Best Thai Food in HK – A Must-Try! This is hands down the best Thai food you can get in Hong Kong! The flavors are not only authentically Thai but can easily compete with top restaurants in Thailand. The Khao Soi is a perfect blend of textures—crispy and soft noodles come together beautifully with incredibly tender beef finger, creating a rich and satisfying experience. The Fried Red Snapper with Sliced Green Mango is another standout—the fish is so fresh it tastes like it was just caught from the sea. Paired with the sweet and sour green mango salad, every bite bursts with layers of flavor and surprises. And of course, their Pad Thai is a must-try! Beyond the amazing food, the service is impeccable. The Thai chefs and staff provide top-notch hospitality, making you feel truly welcome. Plus, unlike many other places, you don’t have to worry about walking out with a smoky smell on your clothes. The atmosphere is perfect for a special night out, where you can dress up and enjoy a fantastic meal with your loved ones. Highly recommended!
