It was supposed to be my second visit today, as my first visit was quite pleasant. However, I think one of the female staff today on duty may require further training in communication skills.

It’s an extremely hot day today, and although I have been waiting for half an hour, I don’t mind waiting as this is one of the trendy spots for coffee breaks.

When I asked the staff if any customers could possibly be leaving soon, she replied in Cantonese, “邊個呀” and “人地尼左一陣㗎咋”. The frown on her face made me wonder if I had upset her with my questions.

It would be nice if your staff could be more friendly and approachable, so that the customer would find it...

We’ve ordered the ham and cheese breakfast with a side of scrambled egg, the pasta alla vodka from the special, Mont Blanc which is also from the special, lemon tart, a hojicha latte with oat milk and a osmanthus lemonade.

The osmanthus lemonade was surprisingly good; the pasta was cooked just right and the sauce is very rich. I’m not a big dan of scrambled eggs but I pleasantly enjoyed the scrambled eggs with the warm and crispy le roll. Both Mont Blanc and lemon tart were not too heavy nor sweet.

Understand that it’s self service, but we both found that having to go to the counter to pick up our savoury dishes and drinks in 3 separate trips seem to...

Le Goûter is a new French dessert and coffee shop at the corner of Catchick and Catdogen Streets. They have a small inside seating area for our 7-8. people. There are a few more outdoor seats. Order at the counter and they'll bring dishes and drinks out to you.

I popped in to try their Basque style cheesecake and coffee recently. The cheesecake was a fair version of the San Sebastian classic with a slight coffee or nuttiness flavour. Double espresso was medium bodied, bold and good flavour. Was a nice coffee to finish with...

A Parisian-style cafe in Kennedy Town. They really did a good job in capturing the French aesthetic. A popular place for people to take IG photos too :) We went on a Sunday afternoon(around 2:30pm) and most of the pastries are sold out already. Coffee was alright, the lemon tart was quite good! Definitely on the pricier side but still worth trying if you're around the area. The only downside is the very small dining area and the spacing between the tables. It can get a bit hard shuffling in and out. They do have a few outdoor seats.
