Tequila on Davis — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

After the first dinner at Chino, still a bit hungry, we came to Tequila on Davis for a second dinner.

The tacos were probably the best I've eaten in Hong Kong to date. On the first look - the tacos looked closest to what I've eaten in HK, including the rice and beans. The taste wasn't that far off. I was elated (not because of the drinks).

My vegetarian foodie buddy and I happily ate them off. I prefer the soft shell ones, she wanted the hard shell. We washed it down with another glass of margarita, though that was a bit disappointing - too sweet, and not fresh jalapeno, even though they told us they were.

A small hole in the wall restaurant serving up Mexican favorites right next to the waterfront in Kennedy Town. Unfortunately, they do not do Taco Tuesdays, but make up for it with humungous portions for their food. They have happy hour up until 7pm as well. We ordered tacos, chimichangas and enchiladas and all the plates were generously plated with black beans, rice and salsa. Pricing can be a bit steep if you're used to the Mexican food you can find in Mexico or even in the states, but the pricing is definitely justified by the portions. Really love this restaurant. Firstly the decor is lovely, really gives a kind of Mexican vibe with traditionally painted walls. Secondly, there is a variety of seating in that there are tables at the bar or if you prefer a quieter area, tables upstairs. Perfect. The food is great. Not a massive menu which is fine by me, but good solid choices such as empananas, quesadillas and nachos. The food is really filling and frankly even one regular dish is more than enough.
