Often seeing ppl recommending their ox tongue on social media, my friend and I deliberately visited this Japanese resto in Quarry Bay. . We both ordered the Thick Cut Beef Tongue Set, which included Salad, Miso Soup, Japanese Steamed Egg Custard, Rice, Grilled Beef Tongue, Beef Tongue with Curry and Dessert. The Japanese Steamed Egg Custard was very smooth with a strong egg aroma. It was a bit lukewarm, but the taste was nice. The Grilled Beef Tongue was truly extremely thick and came with a generous amount, at least 8 pieces! With an appealing pink centre, the tongue had slightly burnt crust and a succulent, tender interior. Apart from lemon juice, I could also choose to dip it in pink rock salt, teriyaki sauce, or scallion oil to enhance its savoury. Pairing the beef tongue with the round and fulfilling Japanese Pearl Rice made the whole dish appetising. The Dessert of the day was Peach Jelly, which was quite refreshing and helped decrease some of the greasiness of the meal. . The resto is very popular, and we had to wait for while to be seated even though we actually booked in advance. It is quite crowded, and almost everyone ordered their signature beef tongue🤣.

An affordable Japanese option in the Quarry Bay area. The prices were fair across the board and the fish they served were fresh to boot. Came in here with a few friends and the restaurant was about half full on a Tuesday night; seems like not too many people know about this place as it's quite tucked into the mall in the basement. I had the special Hokkaido chiraishi and it was delicious! The scallop was sweet, the crab meat was fresh and the rice was cooked just right. An update: They've just pivoted to offering roasted ox tongue which is delicious in its own right, but service could be improved as we were made aware of the time limit of dining; we still felt hurried by the staff even though we had acknowledged the time limit before being seated.

Very limited manpower But no doubt the ox tongue is good! Can tell the staff are tired and frustrated to serve the full house customers The sukiyaki beef must try very valuable! A big bowl with lots of vegetables. The soup and fried chicken are too salty! The staff attitude most improve, long waiting time for ordering, and food as well. The staff cleaning the tables with frustrating sound next to you.
