A restaurant located in the Kowloon Bay area. I arrived a little after 11 a.m., so there was no need to wait for a table. At the entrance, they had some scented hand sanitizer for customers to use. If you liked the scent, you could purchase the hand sanitizer. After using it, I noticed a lingering perfume-like fragrance on my hands, which was a bit strange when I held the french fries to eat. If you decide to use their scented hand sanitizer next time, I wouldn't recommend ordering french fries.

As for the food I ordered, I had a serving of black truffle fries and a Benedict egg with smoked salmon and black caviar. I also ordered a black truffle mixed mushroom risotto. The Benedict egg was well-executed, with a perfectly shaped egg and a runny yolk. It was accompanied by hollandaise sauce, smoked salmon, and an English muffin base. The black truffle fries were delicious and had a strong truffle aroma. The risotto was also good, with a rich mushroom flavor and a slightly al dente texture, which I heard is the authentic way to prepare it.

I also tried their Napoleon cake, which had a crispy pastry base and was quite enjoyable. Additionally, I ordered a chocolate cake, which seemed to be a mousse cake. It was shaped like a snow-capped mountain and had a fruity filling that resembled pear. Both cakes were tasty.

I also had two regular cups of coffee, and they were included in the bill, which came to around HK$350. It's not too expensive considering the items ordered. One thing worth mentioning is that they have switched to using QR codes...

OVERALL: Not worth it!

SERVICE: The waitress working in the restaurant were the worst waitress I’ve seen in a while. I mean I just came back from Australia, and the service there was impeccable. Now back to Hk, the service in this restaurant- Beans, was turned my day upside down. Not only were they slacking on the job, they also had the worst communications and social skills I ever seen in a waitress.

FOOD: I am so disappointed!!! We came a long way, just to eat their food. Compared to my past experience in this restaurant, the food quality has deteriorated.

Before & after - A few months before, the food was perfect! I mean perfect!

But now, the bread is soggy, not crunchy. The vegan option breakfast, the one that cost $78 was soulless. The fruit in the vegan option were not fresh. The rose latte was disgusting, it tasted like water, I don’t taste the coffee nor the rose. Where is the coffee?

ATMOSPHERE: The location and vibes it gave out were better than other regular Hk restaurants. It’s usually packed after 11:00 am, so it’s best to be at the restaurant before 11:00...

No waiting time needed on a weekday evening. The official dining time is restricted to 90 minutes only but you would not be rushed if the place is not fully occupied.

Food arrived accordingly after ordering using a QR code. All of them were overall tasty, especially the SOFT-SHELL CRAB SPAGHETTI IN TRUFFLE CREAM SAUCE. Portions are nice, prices are reasonable. The fries were crispy and served hot and fresh.

Service was excellent. Staff were all polite and efficient. They will come and check back with you after ordering. We were offered an extra chair for our belongings and our water glasses were refilled accordingly. It has been a while since I felt the 10% service charge is well paid for.

Highly recommend if you need a decent place to sit down and enjoy good food with a...
