People say the economy in HK ain’t that good, and restaurants find it hard to survive. I doubt that for Bivacco.
I visited the Southside for the very first time, was looking for a place to enjoy lunch with my friend. Bivacco looked like a good choice with a few empty tables inside (I took a trip around and restaurants in Southside are very busy during lunch time), so at around 1250pm on 18 Aug, Bivacco that is!
The front desk was empty. I saw a young couple studying the menu at the front desk. I was thinking maybe I should wait outside, and then a man carrying a child walked in, and a server fixed his table for him. So I walked into the restaurant and found the nearest table for two, thinking it was okay.
Suddenly a man in a white shirt approached me aggressively, without any greeting, he said, “you cannot just come in here!” I immediately got up to leave, explaining that I didn’t know, he repeated to me on my way out, “you cannot just come in here!” I must have upset him or something.
Of course I did not stay. I went to a Thai restaurant upstairs. I am always ready to respect the etiquette of a restaurant, but no one should be talked...
Read moreCame early as I had some spare time. Had a beer during Happy Hours. 86 hkd for a pint !!!!! Not really happy deal….
Then I came back with fam for diner. Huge mistake! Big restaurant but only 3 pax ahead of us when we get in. From order to deliver Of food it took 45 minutes! For 2 pizzas and a fajita !!! When I asked what’s happening the excuse was : oh we had a large order on line so you have to wait till it is done. I told them they should look after the diners first and on line orders later…. Then one pizza arrived and another wait of 5-10 minutes till the rest arrive. Pizza was so bad !!! Fajita very plain. Go there fast, in 6 months/ max a year they will be out of business. Only good marks on Google reviews are by instagramers who eat there for free !!! Manager was cool in offering the drinks but that was the only positive thing I had to say about this place. Whoever says their pizza’s are good has no food experience or is still struck with Covid lost of...

I went to Bivacco at the Southside for lunch on a Sunday and opted for their 'Brunch menu'. Unfortunately, the menu was extremely misleading. It was stated to be for two people, but while you could choose two starters, you could only choose one main dish. We chose the ravioli with burrata as our main, and were shocked by how small the portion was—8 pieces of ravioli with a medium-sized burrata cheese.
We also ordered a mango and avocado salad. Unfortunately, both the mango and avocado were not ripe enough, resulting in a generally tasteless salad that cost $170!
I understand that this restaurant is newly opened and still figuring out its processes, but I would recommend considering other options in the same shopping mall rather than paying for a meal here just for them to improve.
The tiramisu was the only dish that I found to be acceptable. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 just because of...
