Just had the most amazing dining experience at Bamboo Thai @bamboothai_hk in THE SOUTHSIDE Mall @thesouthsidehk ! 🎉🇹🇭 From the vibrant ambiance to the mouthwatering flavors, everything was simply extraordinary. 😍🌸
We started our evening with their delectable appletizer platter and tom yum soup, indulging in the Wok Fried Tiger Prawns in Light Yellow Curry with Egg. 🍤🌶️ The combination of succulent prawns, red bell pepper, and creamy curry sauce was an explosion of flavors! 😋 Accompanied by a refreshing Fresh Young Coconut and Negroni, it was the perfect start to our meal. 🌴🥥
The culinary journey continued with the Moutain of Pork Neck Bone, Tumeric Whole Seabass, and Fried Rice with Wagyu Beef, Tomatoes & Fried Shallot. 🦀🍳 The delightful blend of Thai ingredients and a touch of sriracha sauce. It was an absolute delight for the taste buds! 🌶️✨
We also loved their Sticky Rice with Fresh Mango and Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream with Young Coconut Meat, Toasted Peanuts & Corn. The flavours were heavenly.

Read moreDate night with tropical cocktails 🥂 and authentic Thai 🇹🇭 flavours at 📍Bamboo Thai was such a treat. The brand’s flagship recently opened at THE SOUTHSIDE bringing traditional essences of Southeast Asia to their chic new outdoor and indoor dining space. House specialities feature fresh seafood paired with vibrant Thai spices and aromatic herbs.
We kicked started the night with their Appetizer Platter(HK$198), which consists of Spring Rolls, Prawn Rice Paper Rolls, Cuttlefish Cake, Chicken Satay and Fish Cakes with traditional dipping sauce.
Next was my favorite- Tom Yum Goong(HK$82). The soup was made just right not too spicy or sour. Followed by Mountain of Pork Neck Bone(HK$158), the slow-cooked pork ribs with lemongrass, ginger, coriander and kaffir lime leaves were so tender. It was perfect to paired with a tangy sauce of Thai herbs and chili.
Must not miss their Wok Fried Tiger Prawns in Light Yellow Curry with Egg(HK$318, 5 pieces) served on Mondays. The giant Thailand and Myanmar crustoceans fried with red bell pepper and onion are so sweet and succulent complemented with the creamy curry sauce made it so delicious. Meanwhile, the Turmeric Whole Seabass(HK$228) was so flavourful as well with yellow spice. Those who are fried rice lovers must try their Fried Rice with Wagyu Beef, Tomatoes & Fried Shallot(HK$148).
For dessert, we shared Sticky Rice with Fresh Mango and also Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream with Young Coconut Meat, Toasted Peanuts & Corn(HK$68). The latter was such a unique flavour combining the traditional milk tea with a...

MANGO STICKY RICE is very difficult to have done wrong but this restaurant did it with hard rice, barely-there coconut milk and very sparing portion. We ordered ROTI from the menu but the staffs didn’t understand, turned out they was NAAN, meaning it was made with butter and not suitable for someone with dairy intolerance, which is the case for someone at our table. 1 of 2 plain JASMINE RICE was cold inside. Even the coconut tastes like nothing. Only the coca cola and fry morning glory live up to our expectations. That’s how disappointing this restaurant is. Around $200 per head (2 adults & a 3yo) for dinner. NOT VEGETARIAN/ VEGAN friendly as not even one tofu...
