At the airport, we spent about 7 hours to complete the registration, covid19 test and custom process. Airport and gov health staffs were very organized and professional. Just like China, Hong Kong has the zero covid19 case policy, we felt very safe after arriving Hong Kong. From the airport, HK gov. provided free bus to quarantine hotels. Nina Hotel Island South was the first stop for this bus route. Today is my 5th day of our 14-day quarantine and I already love this hotel. I believe this hotel has the best value for a 330+ sq.ft. room in Hong Kong. It can easily cost 3 times more for a downtown hotel with the same size. Our room is pretty clean and bathroom is big. We have space to exercise and walk around. Hotel staffs are friendly and responsive. The reception always called us when the health department arrived on site to do covid19 test. It gave us enough time to prepare. This hotel is also very accommodating in reservation. They didn’t charge my credit card until I arrived to check in. This hotel allows cancelation and refund 1 day before the check in date with no penalty. For many other hotels, they charge the credit card when booking the room and offer no change, no cancelation and no refund! A few Youtubers posted their reviews for this hotel with great detail. Some rooms have the wide-open mountain and highway view if you pay a little more per day. From our regular room, we can see the HK Ocean Park and mountains. Yesterday, HK experienced a serve storm and most of the HK was shutdown. However, there was no effect to the hotel service. That is very nice. I joined their Vivva membership program. This hotel will be my choice again when I return to HK next year. There is a busy road in front of the hotel. We are on 15th floor and hear some traffic. At last, don’t expect a 5-star food for this quarantine package, you pay for what you get. I am totally fine with the food. We can switch among 4 different menus once per week per person. Read moreI am here in this hotel for 21 days quarantine, today is my 13th day. The first day that I was here I am feel that I will go crazy to lock in a 300+ sq ft room for 21 days!!! BUT I was wrong, from the second day onwards I realize that I have to do something, I start doing exercise more and more and this seems doesn’t look like me😊 I am lucky that I have been upgrade to the Mountain View, so every day I’m looking at the mountain counting peoples pass by and realized the importance of simple life. I got a very good view from this window, the three meals that the hotel provides are tasty, daily fruits, drinks, meals are all included in the hotel charges. If you go onto the website they should have 4 to 5 different menus, base/ Halal/low Calorie...etc. Very considerate! Surprisingly they will sometimes deliver you snack and games like sudoku, paper craft... heart melting! Whenever I call the front desk and ask for extra coffee, tea bag, cups..etc, I could get it within 5 mins! A big thanks to the customer service team they are very professional! When we reach there, the drop off place is actually not the lobby but there's staff there to bring us up to the Lobby immediately without us asking for what to do next.
I"m putting a very high expectation to this hotel as the review has been quite good, so far the check-in process went smoothly.
We are given the room No 814. When I read through the review, there was one review mention of well maintain room, wondering what defined "well maintain"? Maybe, because the cleanliness is there even the place is no new ? and aircond sound is loud.
At night which luckily not midnight, out of the sudden, the alarm rang. immediately we called front desk to check on what happened, but was informed that still checking for the reason. Good thing is fire engine reach just after a few minutes, to check on the condition of the room which triggered the alarm.
I didn't visit the pool or gym but there's a common area at the lobby which is well designed, like a living room. There are desktops connected with Wifi for in house guest to use for free; a large tables, where you can work, eat or gather there for dinner if you are there in a small group. Free coffee from semi auto coffee machine is available there, which is way much better than hotel which provide instant coffee sachet in room.
This common area has changed our mind to continue stay for another night here after alarm incident.
Breakfast is decent, a good enough breakfast buffet. Staff who is doing the cleaning is very efficient as there are many people there for breakfast but they are able to clean up the table in no time.
I will definitely revisit this place.
