Hoi Wan Vegetarian Restaurant — Restaurant in Islands District

Has the management changed? It used to be a great, accommodating restaurant. Went today and English menu is gone, staff seem disoriented and can’t answer basic questions about the food (and seem put out when asked to ask the kitchen, due to a potential food allergy), asked for fried noodles and got… boiled noodles with ketchup? Two dishes came with meat after explicitly ordering vegetarian. The rest of the order still tasted good (after a 7hr hike) but in general the experience was so much worse than before. Will think twice...

Although their restaurant's name has the "vegetarian" word, their meat dishes are just as superb as their vegetable dishes. The chicken is seriously one of the best foods I ever had in Hong Kong and I just love how rustic and fresh the ingredients are. I guess its from the local produce.

With good value of money as well, I say its worth to stop by if you are going to Tai O which is near...

Visited the restaurant yesterday. The staff were impolite. The food quality was absolutely substandard , ie spice fry rice noddles was completely bad, ie moist, tasteless and looked horrible, the stir fry vegetable was completely not attractive. Struggling to swallow it down. It was a totally disappointed experience about this resturant. Definitely will not...
