my friends and I went here 30 mins before their closing time (we initially didn’t know, we only asked if they’re still open and they welcomed us). we ordered our drinks and some desserts. we enjoyed our time just chillin’ when the owner approached us and offered to clear our empty cups and plates, also poured us water to rinse the desserts we just had. we then asked him what time they close and instead of answering us, he simply said “take your time and enjoy” after checking the place in google, we realised they close 1.5 hrs ago from the time we asked! we quickly left and paid for our drinks. the owner and the service staff all chatted with us and made us feel welcomed. Though this is far, this is worth the visit and will definitely make this our stop whenever we visit Tai O. Their desserts, needless to say, are amazing and good value for money. And instead of accepting tips, they accept donations to support rural schools. Ethical business...

We found this small cafe with a nice view of the houses on stilts when we visited Tai O fishing village. They are located in the same street with Tai O Bakery. We only ordered coffee, since we already ate some donuts earlier. Each person is required to order at least one drink which is around HK$48 per drink. The coffee is not extraordinary, just passable. We also ordered cold ginger honey tea which is quite nice. I think you are paying for the ambiance. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The lady who attended us was very nice. The place was overall chill and relaxing, it is perfect if you want to just sit and appreciate...

WORST EXPERIENCE I had in Tai O. Nearly had a heat stroke and would like to get inside and sit down first. The guy at the front first made us wait for no reason, then insisted on having us order first, and wouldn’t let us in and get a table when there are enough tables outside. The menu is very limited, and the staff was very rude and stubborn. We didn’t want to spend 10 minutes ordering, and we ended up leaving. Probably one of the worst places in Tai O, given the poor attitude of the staff. Even with the view and food, it is not worth being...

There isn't much to do at Tai O, but I wanted to stop by here for some food and coffee. You're mostly paying for the ambience, but it's definitely a very cozy environment with a scenic view of the fishing village. The staff were friendly and attentive. Each guest must order at least one drink. We got two coffee drinks and they were okay. Not the best, but passable. For food, we got the Shrimp Roe Noodles with Pork. It was pretty tasty and I enjoyed it. follow @food.vince on instagram for more travel eats!
