Went here for Dim Sum several times and place is always crowded. Went here with local friends; though we planned to eat at 8am, somebody will need to come much earlier (say, 7am) to get a table. People here often don't leave after their meals, they chat over tea or read newspapers, so table turnover are very slow. It is close to several apartment complex (coastal skyline) and shopping centre (citigate outlet, tung chung mrt)
Dim Sum choices was sufficient, but not as much as variety compared to other dim sum places (ex. no Char Leong here) . Ordering can be confusing if you're no Chinese/Cantonese speaker, so come here with a local friend or prepare photos of your menu.
If you're not staying nearby; or plan to shop at citigate, I wouldn't recommend you to come here as there are lots of better options...
Read moreTao Heung is indeed an ideal place for "yum cha" in Hong Kong with many outlets spread across islandwide. The Q is typically long or rather to be exact, a minimum wait of 15 minutes to be seated because it's a typical culture / lifestyle in Hong Kong for people to gather and catch up with friends early morning to have breakfast / yum cha with family members and friends, especially on weekends and public holidays the Q would usually be longer waiting time. Tao Heung is also popular for their dinner special package and "purchase with purchase" at a very special low price on selected dishes. Always look out for their unique special low prices dishes (I really mean that it's exceptionally low) for both their yum cha and dinner menu. Highly recommend for both locals and tourists...
Read moreOrdered few items for take away, worse service I have had for only take away, after ordering and paying the cashier told me that needed to wait half hour for the food. I thought was a lot but still accepted as I already paid. After waiting 45min I asked the cashier and she only told me to wait as she already send the order. I start checking and went to the kitchen counter to ask. One of the chef pointed the take away they put outside to other staff. So I went and check, the order was in a corner. The staff knew was there but was busy to send or was finishing putting the sauces of the rice roll. So at the end waited 1 hour for the food.
Really not recommended for take away, not sure for dine in if they care more.
Food was ok, cannot expect better as the food was...
