Their prices have gone up and portion sizes have shrunk over the years. I really dislike restaurants that shrink portions--it is less transparent to shrink portions and more transparent to raise prices. I used to feel 40% full after consuming one of their grande cheesecakes but this time around I only felt around 25% to 30% full. That said, their cheesecake is excellent. Rich cheese flavor and very dense, it is delicious standalone or with the accompanying sauces. I am sure most of you don't visit a restaurant just for cheesecake, and they do offer a large variety of Italian food. I have tried their lunch sets previously and they were prepared to a high standard so Amaroni's remains a solid choice--if you don't mind dealing with potential service issues. For example, service wasn't particularly fast despite there were very few customers at the time I was there.

Ordered a set meal for 2-3 people (around HKD800 before service charge), which included 2 appetizers, 2 mains (choosing first either beef or fish and then either risotto or ravioli) and 1 dessert (have a choice between tiramisu and gelato). The food was served right from the kitchen very efficiently. Could feel the heat of the food which made them even better than they looked. The complimentary drinks include some fruit tea options and coffee. We ordered 2 peach tea and one coffee. The coffee was served in a jar and we were told to wait for 3 minutes before pouring it out. The jar probably contains almost 3 cups of coffee but the coffee is not strong, which I personally don't like. On the whole, I will definitely visit this restaurant again to try other dishes.

Came here with my family to eat. Everything went smoothly until something happened. Here's my review on this place... Short review: Two terribly done dishes, otherwise food was average, very clean, nice environment, pricey. Food: Food was actually pretty good until they delivered my Italian Burger. The thing was half cooked. HALF COOKED. I thought maybe it was their 'style' of burger, but then my dad asked one of the staff member, 'Is it supposed to be like this?' Staff then replied 'No, it shouldn't be.' and ran off to tell the cook to make a new one. Within a few minutes the same dish arrived and it was terrible. The first burger, being half cooked had amazing cheese texture, and tasted good, until I noticed the half cooked beef... The second burger was horrid. Terrible quality beef, although cooked this time, (sloppily), literally tasteless, and the bread was soaked in sauce. Terrible. Everything else was pretty good, but they screwed up big time with that. Somebody should get fired for that. First time uncooked and next time sloppy?!? Unexceptional. If you're going to screw up, fix it and make it better. Something this chef forgot to do. 😠 Staff: For us, food arrived pretty quickly, within 5 minutes. No gripe there, and the staff was polite. No hate on staff, and one of the members complained to the chef about our burger, so I guess service is pretty good. Price: I paid 913 in Hong Kong dollars for an uncooked burger, a sloppy burger, and otherwise good food, which was 7 dishes. Was it worth it? Not really. Thankfully they didn't charge extra for the replacement burger. Whew. Cleanliness: Tables seemed clean enough along with the cutley and plates. Very, very clean washrooms. I'm going to emphasize the very. For once, they have toilet paper that isn't literally half a milimeter thin. 👏 Environment: Very nice Italian vibe in the restaurant. Beautiful lights, and a statue of The Thinker in the middle was a very nice touch, along with paintings on the walls. 10/10 for environment. Extra notes: Two out of three of the hot water faucets were broken (cold still worked and one of the hot faucets was kind of leaking out). Hopefully they fix that. Other than that minor issue, everything else was fine. Verdict: Was going to give this a good rating, until my burger was served. Wasn't even too upset for it being half cooked but when the course was cooked again, that's when I decided. May come here again to see how things are going. 3 stars as of now.

Fabulous Food Dashing Decor Shameful Service It was nice seeing Amaroni’s new look. It used to be kinda dark and gloomy. Now walking in you feel bright and refreshed. The food was classic. Excellent bread. The lobster pasta was excellent. Steak cooked almost to perfection and seasoned well. It is regrettable that this could all be ruined by one staff. (Most are nice) the front lady standing either behind the booth or greeting guest in was deplorable. Wanting to celebrate a post “cufewed” Mother’s Day meal with my family and grandma who has mild dementia. We asked for a balloon. There her spiteful comments with condescending tone “huh? Give la give la give la”, was …. ,In a lack of a better description,… shocking. My relative even had to get up and confront her, yet she denied such allegations. With no explanation or apology and … ?ignored us. I assure that not the entire table had dementia and her lovely statement was clearly heard. I apologise if the balloon was such a valuable that she had to make it sound like a sacrifice. I would give 2 stars just to be fair to the chef and other staff who still gave us a salvageable time. If reading this, please don’t ever ask for a balloon. I would gladly chose any other restaurant in festival walk :). After all Amaroni’s sound like they don’t want you too.

Amaroni's is one of the few long standing restaurants at Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong. They have been there for 15 years or so. This used to be a really good place for Italian but the quality started to wane 7 or 8 years ago, resulting in our only eating here every few years or so now. Recently Amaroni's began a take-away promotion of 40% off on a fair number of their a la carte menu, prompting us to give them a try. We ordered their Cherry Pie pizza which wasn't bad. Crust was thick - American style, topping quality fair, marinara sauce savoury. Overall, this was a fair pizza, much better than what you typically find in the Kowloon Tong area and further north in the N.T. For proper pizza, you have to make way to HK Island to try one of the pizza specialists like Pizza Project by Pirata, Motorino by Black Sheep or Dough Bros. These are much better than what Amaroni's bakes. However, compared to most other places, the Amaroni's pizza isn't bad.

Been here a couple times with family and the atmosphere is nice, place is well decorated and staff are friendly. However food just seems to be consistently poor quality, the pasta specifically. The carbonara is more of an alfredo, the ragu in the lasagna is ketchup in disguise, and most recently the penne with shrimp and chicken in a herb cream sauce is more of a cream soup with cheese melted into it. Pasta cooked til it was almost soggy and you can tell there was no salt involved. The cheese was melted on the top which was fine, but not broiled so it looked like a lump of wet unappetising grocery store pre shredded cheese, and just became an oily separated mess. Shrimp and chicken were cooked well though. Service was alright, just sad standards for food. Also like that they use pasta straws instead of plastic, or paper straws that get soggy.
