My partner wanted to have Thai cuisine for our date night, since we were in Kowloon city and he hadn’t been in the district for quite sometime. We didn’t want to go back to the big one (you know which one we were talking about), so we decided to walk around and see which restaurant appeared to be good.

Cambo Thai Restaurant consists of 3 restaurants which sort of joined together, so we thought it must somehow be good, and it really is!

Once we were seated, we saw this plate with four names and numbers. We were thinking what they meant, dish names? But we found out that they are all horses’ names that the restaurant owns!!! Oh my goodness! Next to this plate are pictures of the horses in the race course. Do check it out yourself.

To start with, we had a small Tom Yum Soup, which was actually larger than we thought as we had more than two bowls of soup each. The mushrooms and shrimps were delicious, and the soup itself was fantastic! Rightly flavored with enjoyable sourness and sweetness. Yet, the soup became quite salty after being heated on the stove for quite some time. The last bowl I had at the end of meal was so salty that I had to give up after two sips. That’s understandable as the water in it was evaporated during heating. So you better finish it soon. The first two bowls I had when it was served were really amazing.

Pad Thai is a must order in Thai restaurant. This was a great one with a hint of sweetness. Love the fresh and meaty shrimps in between the noodles.

Another favorite of mine is Garlic Butter Wings. They were superb, especially when they were served fresh hot! Totally irresistible!

Shrimp salad was what my partner wanted, for the fibers. The shrimps were fresh and great. Grapefruit pieces were surprisingly enjoyable as they were not overly sour. I didn’t dig in much for the raw veggies as I am not a big fan of vegetables, not to mention raw ones.

On the whole, it’s a great dinner at a really affordable price of HKD$26X. Definitely worth a visit if you are craving some Thai in...

Thai food is a must when you visit Kowloon city as the surrounding area is full of Thai restaurants. We picked Cambo for our dinner choice due to its popularity, name and that we have tired one of their shop in Tsim Sha Tsui before and it was so delicious. traditional restaurant full of history and expanded to more restaurants in the city. one of the most popular dish here is their fresh prawn sashimi, wow 😮 this dish was actually the best one ☝🏼 I’ve had in my life. The prawn were fresh, big and the sauce made it so flavorful, loved it. I will definitely miss this dish and come back here just for it. we picked fresh coconut as our drink to share. It was big, sweet and tasty. We also finished the coconut instead as it was easy to eat. for mains, we ordered curry brisket with fresh baguette 🥖 another wow factor applies here as the curry taste was perfect and with the dip of the sauce, made it super tasty 😋 a snack we ordered was the fried prawn balls with melted sauce in the middle. It was hot, crunchy and juicy. Another lovable dish! we ordered a vegetable to share too, it was yummy and a strong taste of Thai food. of course we have to also order the skewers in three different kinds of meat, not only it’s juicy...hot but the satay sauce was superb! another “wow” have to be given here! lastly, cannot leave without ordering their sticky mango rice. Portion was big, mango was sweet. A very satisfying meal indeed and cannot wait to come back with more people so we can try...

Came here with my friend on a Thursday evening about 6 pm. There were not many people here at that time but was greeted with a temperature check and hand sanitizing. There is lots of room in the restaurant for 1.5 meter distance. The servers were not very flexible for vegetarian requirements. Only recommendation was the veggie curry. Instead I tried a curry noodle without meat and ordered a side of veggies. Curry noodles were ok and veggies were ok too. The morning glory was the only dish that tasted good that I would have anything to say about. The prices were maybe a little pricey for the area. Not sure I would come back... nothing crazy to me about this Thai place besides...
