They are apparently the legendary reigning champion of Hong Kong-style milk tea. The original branch is located in Central. I went to the branch located in Heath Hong Kong in the basement of Chungking Mansions (Tsim Sha Tsui). Busy and packed. There was a line just after 16:00 but it moved quickly. I just wanted the hot milk tea and there was a minimum spend to dine in so I took my tea and sat in the shared communal food hall dining area. The milk tea was good. Quite strong and bitter but I liked it. The milk made it very heavy and filling. I didn't add any sugar to it. I couldn't finish it, despite the small cup but it was nice. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The minimum spend to dine in was not much. Your likely to have to share a table depending on how many people there are in your party. Very tightly-packed tables, like a canteen. Loud and noisy, but it had a real local Hong Kong feel. Food looked rich and hearty. I believe they are also known for their instant noodles. Would recommend the milk tea. It isn't something I would drink everyday. It is quite rich and I am not a big dairy person. However, on a cold January afternoon with a runny nose and cold, it was needed!

A really traditional cafe with a vintage kind of atmosphere. Food was served fast and customers are attended to quickly. The black pepper beef with noodles was average and it can be found in most of the cafes around hongkong. The vegetables did compliment well with the beef if you got sick of the beef taste. The French toast with butter goes really well with the honey provided and every bite is just delectable with a hint of both sweetness and saltiness. We forgot to take a picture of the pork chop bun. We had both a pork chop bun and a original bun with butter and condensed milk. The buns are definitely a signature as it was crispy and it goes well with both the butter and also the pork chop. Hongkong milk teas are always great and this is according to standard as well. Quality for the price paid too. A must to visit for the buns and the milk teas!

Lan Fong Yuen is located deep inside the basement of Heath building, Lan Fong Yuen is a cha chaan teng (Cantonese-style diner) in Hong Kong that is famous for its milk tea and other classic Hong Kong dishes. It is one of the oldest cha chaan tengs in Hong Kong. The milk tea at Lan Fong Yuen is made with a blend of black tea and condensed milk, and is said to be one of the best in Hong Kong. The tea is rich and creamy, and has a slightly sweet taste. Other popular dishes at Lan Fong Yuen include the pork chop bun, French toast, and chicken noodles. The atmosphere at Lan Fong Yuen is HongKong heritage vintage style. The restaurant is small and crowded, and the service is quick and efficient. However, the food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable.

My very first breakfast in Hong Kong. Of course I wanted to try something extremely local so my friend brought me here. NB: this HK style cafe is located in the basement of the building. At Lan Fong Yuen I tried their very unique speciality, the crispy butter pork buns, that have absolutely no meat inside, it's just sweet bread with butter. I had one together with some milk tea and it was quite good. In the following days I got to try they french toast as well, and I can assure you it's heavenly: they will serve it warm, with a layer of delicious custard in-between. You can also add honey to make it sweeter: probably the best French toast I tried in Hong Kong. Rather than the bun I feel confident in recommending the French toast instead.

Good food but crazy prices. French toast was great and crunchy. Pork bun was very normal but cost $30+. Each drinks was $24 (hot) $27 (cold). Price is really ridiculous. Warning, every customer has to order a drink so can’t say no. I guess it’s how they earn money as the profit margin for drinks is very high. Tastes very very normal for their milk tea. However staffs are friendly and nice, probably because many tourist come and visit so they are used to it. Location wise - Hidden beside a shady building. Enter the building name heath, go down the escalator and the store is all the way at the back. Do not enter the shady building if you follow google maps.

A bit overrated, but not hurt to give a try, anyway their milk tea serve in a really hot milk tea unlike shop like kam wah served me a warm milk tea. Tried their chicken chop wif instant noodle, the chicken chop was good, really good, crunchy outer part n tender inside, but the noodles is a bit tasteless, but texture of the noodles is just good. Accidentally ordered a crispy bun, and yes!!!!! This bun is good highly recommended, I nvr had this type of bun before in my Hong Kong trip, crunchy bun!!!!!! But I removed the sweeten milk n eat, cos I dun like sweet... But it was still delicious!!!!
