Luen Fat Restaurant is a really traditional local cha chaan teng in Kowloon City, it’s old, yet it’s clean, and the waiters are very polite and friendly. We were very surprised by the variety of Japanese type don rice they serve.

I got this BBQ Pork Scramble Eggs Rice for dinner. For HKD$78, it’s a massive bowl of rice with fantastic toppings! The BBQ pork pieces were nicely roasted, they were very juicy, meaty and flavored! Definitely one of the top notches! And the scramble eggs, they were simply superb! We were told that the scramble eggs were made with different types of eggs. They were so silky and runny! Yet, not overly oily. Superb!

My friend got this Scramble Eggs with Fried Rice. Same superb scramble eggs, and the fried rice inside was great too! It’s fried with ketchup, very dry and delicious!

The portion was huge! We should probably order...

Luen Fat is one of the best cha chan teng in Hong Kong. Price might be a bit on the higher side but totally worth it. Ordered the wood grilled cha siu scramble egg rice, and lunch tea set (instant noodle, scramble egg, toast, ham and tea). On top, we ordered the deep fried luncheon meat, which is their special. The luncheon meats style is like a fries looking, a special taste with a mixture of sugar and mayo. The scramble egg is very smooth, and cha siu is very good in terms of cha chan teng quality. A place that I would like to come back all the time and would definitely try...

Been wanting to try their famous char siew scrambled egg rice and it certainly did not disappoint! What surprised me was the friendliness of the staffs there 🥹 I didn’t carry enough cash as i simply assumed they accept Octopus card as payment but it turns out they only accept cash and i only had HKD 100 with me… my total bill was 130, the male staff was kind enough to try Alipay but it didnt work out, i was mentally prepared to be lectured by him but he allowed me to withdraw money from nearby ATM without any doubt and hesitation 🥹 and even thanked me when i return back to pay off...
