I waited outside in a line in the rain for 1 hour only to find out that they have a system where you write your name down on a list and they call you. I realized this only after they came to ask both people before me and after me if their name was on the list, completely ignoring me. Probably because I wasn't local looking and the waiter didn't speak English. During the time I waited outside I made eyecontact with the waiters inside on multiple occasions and they were standing around a lot. They would have had plenty of chances to come ask for my name on the list. I felt rude to go inside a full restaurant to ask for my turn when it looked like so many people where waiting in the front of it in line, so it didn't occur me to approach them. I saw people who showed up after me go in first but I assumed it was because they had made a prior reservation(for some of them I saw them twice, once when they wrote their name on the list, and soon after when they came back, as it seemed the restaurant prefers big groups over smaller parties). I have dined in plenty of brunch places around the world with both list and line waiting methods and it was the first time that I had no idea that there was a list. Usually the waiters are much more serviceminded and try to make sure everyone understands the waiting method. Especially when it is not written anywhere. Anyways it was my mistake, just one that could have been easily rectified by the service staff. I left the place withouth having brunch, their food looks...
Read moreThe best cafe so far. The portion of the brunch is huge. In fact, it should not be called a brunch, it should be a huge lunch. We ordered London and Calcutta, long black and lime soda. Main courses were full of surprises and freshly made. We particularly praised highly of London because of the sauce. It is a very rich tomato sauce served along with beef tenderloin cubes in a cast iron. The long black was fruity and aromatic, perfectly coupled with the full body tomato sauce. The size of the restaurant is small which is common in Jordon district. The theme is British which is relatively rare in Hong Kong. The restaurant has a small porch in which you can enjoy the porch view overlooking the road, mimicking the country side porch life (just give yourself a little bit of imagination). The staff are friendly and attentive at the right moment which is not common nowadays in many...
Read moreAm really disappointed with the double shot macchiato with 1.5 cm milk and foam that was supposed to start my day. It turned out there coffee bean was really sour and there was no sight of any crema mixed with the milk foam. Asked the barista on duty today and his response was the coffee bean is meant to be nutty favour but just have not breeze enough….oh man, then why did you serve this to me.
The after taste of the coffee actually stink my tongue (am even thinking if the barista gave me the first shot from the coffee machine this morning). Am sure, I will not visit this place again and warn my circle of coffee lovers. Don’t go there for coffee and service. As you get none but a charge for it.
Have to head to Heart Coffee for a better coffee shot to restart me day. What a waste of the walk and wait for the shop to open at 10am.
Good luck in sustaining ur business through...
