Restaurante Litoral receives rather mixed reviews here on TripAdvisor but we have mostly had very good Portuguese meals at this institutional favourite here in Macau, including a recent lunch during the Chinese New Year holiday. During this lunch we ordered a favourite of ours the Arroz de Pato (Duck Rice) with a side of Chorizo (Portuguese sausage). The duck rice is a fairly large portion, not as much duck included in this last serving but the dish still tasted very good. They bake the rice in duck fat, giving it a really nice flavour. We like to add some extra chorizo (mentioned above) to give some spiciness to the duck rice. We also like the traditional egg pudding at Restaurante Litoral. This pudding is soft, smooth, just sweet enough, its a nice dessert to finish meals here. Seating area is large and decorated in traditional Portuguese manner. Menu includes pictures with English so its easy to pick out what you want. Staff also speak English so its easy to order as well. Meals are served in a timely fashion and that staff are attentive throughout.

You may think that prices are expensive but the dishes are big. Dont be fooled by the $38 water bottle. Just ask for tap water if you want instead. The free buns were not warm. It was tasty though. The cream clams were extremely tasty. I think they over stirred it or something because theres a lot of loose shell bits. You'd bit into clam meat thinking it was sand but instead the piece was outside of the clam so it came from the shell breaking while cooking. There were many instances of that unfortunately. The sauce had so much flavor and I would have pour it on everything if it weren't for the shell pieces. The beef tongue was superb. The tongue was so tender. The sauce didnt have much flavor though. The fruit salad was just so underwhelming. It was just the same type as in cha chaan tengs. I also got some portuguese vegetarian soup and it was good.

Wonderful is all we can say. Service is very good with attentive and friendly associates. Thank you for your recommends! We liked the suckling pig litoral style as it was both crispy and succulent at the right places. While it took a while for the African chicken to bake, it was worth the wait. Tender and juicy, we even finished all the potatoes. They say walk ins are welcome as this location can sit 300, but book ahead as it got full at lunch on a friday.

Very nice place to eat and enjoy traditional Macau / Portuguese cuisine. we walked from the Sofitel hotel and there was a line up so it felt like it was going to be a good meal. the food was delicious, and the sangria was very good. The pitcher was well worth it. we ordered a salad and soup plus some crispy pork, which was super fresh. If you're looking for a traditional Portuguese style dinner, then this is the place to go.

The vibes were great - low key felt like we were in Europe. The food was good but not mind blowing. But to be fair we were already quite full when entering. We got the seafood rice and vinegar squid which were both decent. The seafood rice just lacked abit of depth in flavour, and the squid was a little monotonous. Papaya cooler was interesting but not very tasty. Service was good.

I visited the restaurant because so many people had recommended. To be honest it's just OK for my taste. The staff was super nice, the food was cooked properly, but would not go again for a second time and not sure if I would recommend it to others. I think this happened because I had had too high expectations.
